not wishing to steal Crowns thunder but if the situation remains the same the 25-1 and 9-1 with betfred is still well worth taking

if he starts up front we have a superb bet

if he starts in defence we have a slightly below ev bet (possibly)

Hearts v Partick

Hearts struggling with strikers due to injuries and defender Brad McKay could be playing upfront - 40/1 first goal Bet365 and 16/1 anytime same firm are standout prices which might be worth a £5/£10 on each

Take TWO.

A quick peruse of Oddschecker showed that all the bookies had slashed the Brad McKay FGS & AnyTime prices except BetFred, who are presumably asleep at their desk.

They go.....

FIRST - 25/1

ANYTIME - 9/1

Not ideal, but deffo worth a fiver on each, which I have taken. I reduced to £5 due to the reduced value, of course.

Good luck, back of the net please!

2 BETS PLACED

These were great bets. If you don't mind me saying this Crown I always think these spots should bring 2 lots of  bets. The guy should be backed first last anytime as you suggested but the main bet should be on the other team to win the game because their opponents are starting a defender up front. Coupon prices for Partick for those that can get will be pretty good but the market has shortened with most firms, the 7/5 with Laddies online wont last either.

Corrrrrrrect.

Lads now 11/8.

I think we missed the value in this market, and are too late now, agree?

Pretty sure i posted the same this time last year

This is not supposed to be a thread guiding people how to be a pro punter, pretty sure the majority of viewers and even the most regular contributors are not pro's (myself, Hector, Tighty and Adz are 4 of the most frequent tipsters as far as im aware none of us are full time correct me if im wrong)

Yes perhaps the stakes needs sticking up a bit but if that makes some of the more regular contributors less likely to stick stuff up that is not a good thing for the future of thread.

A large proportion of people betting would bite your arm of for a 5% roi over this long a period

I know of several regulars who have asked me not to increase their bet sizes, as it makes them uncomfy. I have to respect that, or we lose them.

I do see that is important and it is nice that people treat your money as they would their own so it helps if they suggest stakes. There are some spots tho where an amount is mentioned and a smaller amount is placed, I actually wondered if there was some in joke I had missed when Chompy keeps getting knocked back. I know you say you bet them off thread yourself but the figs on here don't show those numbers.

IMO I think all this talk of elders and pro's could be off putting for some people too. There is going to be very little someone you consider an elder can add to a downhill skier bet or a darts average, which elder for example could add anything more to Adz or Chompy's horse racing stuff?

PS, that's about three mentions of Chompy today, just to clarfy there is no bromance going on.

Regrettably, it is exactly that, a running joke, & I don't ordinarily rebuff Sir Chompy, ever, I dare not! He does not help when he suggests £300 on Yeovil (tongue firmly in cheek), then suggests "a chunk" on the Mighty Bees to thrash the Posh Has Beens, as "chunk" could, literally, mean anything.

I might just try & rebuff him tonight, though, when he starts with his CBB shite, & wants, what, £25 or £30 on some reality TV tosspot.

OK, gotta go, I have a date, under a concrete motorway bridge near Heathrow.

Patrick Bamford can be marked down as a loser. Spending the rest of the campaign with T'Rams.

Bugger. Can't be helped though, & it proves what a great value bet it was. Too good, really. I suppose this is sort of inherent in this Market.

Lots of rumours flying about that Andy Carroll failed a drugs test and West Ham have kept the information away from the Premier League? 6/4 for relegation and a touch over 9/2 on Betfair to finish rock bottom with a possible 10 point deduction to come.

All speculation at the moment but someone may want to jump in.

I will probably have a bet for the Rugby tonight but need to know team news first.

I have been musing a wager on Big Sam to be the next Manager to be sacked actually, but I dithered too long, he is 4/7 best now, & generally 1/3. Even that must be close to value.

Look forward to the Rugby bet later, I need to go Next Door now, but I'll keep an eye on the thread.

I gather there has been some sort of uprising in Welsh Rugby of late, what was that all about?

Think we've chatted enough today, been a great learning exercise for me. I'll reply to the other stuff - especially the excellent Post by KMac - thank you - in the morning.

I've had a few phone calls, too, from trusted friends, & I think another change we will impose is to selectively modify Recommended stakes from SOME people immediately. Tighty is a great example, too conservative & modest by half.  Can't be doing with these nits who are scared to bet properly.

OK, the poker challenge awaits. I could win as much as £15, maybe even £20 tonight. Yup, £20 in ONE NIGHT. hero

Hearts are a team low on confidence, lacking experience and leadership and seem to have problems keeping their discipline as I alluded to yesterday.   They are a team I am going to continue to oppose until there is a drastic change or I see something that tells me they are turning the corner.

Partick Thistles best form has come away from home.  But their recent form is absolutely disasterous they have managed to amass only 6 points in 15 games.  Even with the problems Hearts are having I think Thistle will struggle.  I liked them earlier in the season I thought they were looking ok, but they are low in confidence and struggling for goals.

I am not convinced there is any value at all in backing Thistle.

A good friend of mine is a season ticket holder at Thistle and he tells me they are creating plenty of chances but they aren't doing much with them.

Personally for me I think given how poor both teams are in front of goal this game has all the hallmarks of a hard though 0 - 0 or maybe a sneaky 1-0.  I'd be betting unders iI haven't checked prices but I'd think it would be around 4/5.
