I think we might have another go tikay. The reasons for the pricing inefficiency in this sub-market are explained below. £10 each is fine. A bit of run-good would be fine too
West Indies won Sunday's first game convincingly, setting a good score and then spinning England into trouble. Tuesday sees the second game of three, previewed here
Recommendations
Jos Buttler Top England Batsman 8/1 Totesport
Ravi Bopara Top England Batsman 12/1 Stan James
This game will be played on the same strip as that used for the first game at Barbados, a reasonably small ground and a good wicket to bat first, put a score up and defend. After the West Indies won the first game by 27 runs, a margin of defeat that flattered England who fell to 40-4 and 100-7 chasing, being in particular all at sea against the spinners Badree and Narine, they have been installed as 8/11 favourites for the second game. This looks fair enough, though in practice the side batting first are favourites on these wickets.
England have an enforced change for the second game, with captain Broad ruled out injured whilst for the West Indies star spinner Sunil Narine went off injured and if he were missing for the second game the 5/4 available on Egland would look that much more interesting
For now though we will assume Narine plays and this creates another opportunity to profit from a sub-market inefficiency in the England top batsman market, where we were a whisper away from landing Ravi Bopara at 16-1 in the first T20
Typically over the shortest International formats the batsman in the top four in the order are priced up as favourites. This is understandable enough as the first batsmen get the best chance to bat for longest, in the powerplay overs where fast sdcoring is possible (as Chris Gayle regularly shows), against the hardest ball.
This is not the case on low spinning pitches though (and is the reason Egland won't win the T20 World Cup in Bangladesh against teams with good spinners like Ind, Pak, SL, WI), as the West Indies for example open with spinners against whom the Englad batsmen struggle. The loss of early wickets is likely (Badree took three wickets up top in the first game) and this opens up possible top scorer to numbers 5,6,7 and in the first T20 number 8 at 40-1.
So is the case for Tuesday's game. Buttler at 5, Bopara at 6 and Stokes at 7 are priced at 8-1,12-1 and 10-1 respectively. Take your pick, each are value under these playing conditions. My preference is for Buttler, a big hitter who can compile a big score quickly, and Bopara, so often the rebuilder of early order collapses for England.
As we saw in the first game, you need a bit of luck in this format, and prices have begun to contract, but the inefficiency in pricing still persists.
Recommendations
Jos Buttler Top England Batsman 8/1 Totesport
Ravi Bopara Top England Batsman 12/1 Stan James

I can't get on with Satan at present (may change shortly....) so what is the minimum price I should accept for Bopara?
Bit awkward, I imagine, as Satan is so far out of line.......

Satan only, don't want to take less than 10-1 on a number 6
Buttler at 5, at 8-1 is fine

Ha.
If you didn't already know, pre-match (around 20 mins before KO), that Eagle gets placed on top of one of the goals by its handler, jumps back on the hand of the guy and then is waved to buy another handler by the other goal on the other side of the pitch and it flies pretty impressively across the pitch to him and it does about 4 round journeys.
You some great expressions of "WTF" by some of the groundsmen with pitchforks in hand, who just haven't acclimatised to the idea of a potential collision with an Eagle.
Then you have the Crystals cheerleaders soon after.

Boyles go 7/2 for Vautour to win the Supreme Novices.
3/1 best elsewhere.
