Did you see Arnie, Gary & Jack teeing off yesterday? Best moment of the day, for me.

Those three fine Gents pretty much made Pro Golf what it is today, & I idolised all 3 of them back in the day, though Gary was my favourite.

They are now, iirc, 84, 78 & 74 years old.

Arnie had the worst swing of any pro golfer ever ever ever, but somehow, he got the job done.

Jack was a little too intense for my liking, but what backbone & strength of character he had. If you backed Jack, you'd always get a run for your money. He did a commentary stint last night, which was wonderful. He told the tale of how on his Masters Debut, he hit 31 of 36 Greens in Reg, & missed the cut, whilst Arnie hit 19 Greens from the first 36 & was Leader.  (Or somesuch). Course Management & all that.

At the time, Gary had a bit of a PR problem, as he is a South African, & they still had apartheid then. I seem to recall he had a black caddie on Tour with him though, so he was making a statement.

With such a large amount riding on Watford to finish top half and only 1point in it, would there be a case to back them to finish bottom half?

http://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/championship/to-finish-in-bottom-half

I think we would agree that when placing the bet we didn't expect them to be in this position.

Tikay can't bet with Sky, so that doesn't look like a goer unfortunately, however, I'm sure anyone else who is on may well do.

Not sure it would make a ot of sense to try & cover the bet now, except as a sort of damage limitation. The price makes it awkward - Fred has £350 @ 2/7, which makes it kind of awkward to cover.

I'm actually pretty confident we'll be OK, though as bobby noted, it's a shocker to follow every week, as Watford seem determined to make us sweat.

Last season, when Watford looked so promising, seems such a long time ago.

Obviously we're in a hole, but for what it's worth the team are improving at a fast rate at the moment under Sannino.  Abdi is (finally!) back starting and Toszer is the missing link.

The negative is a tricky run in against teams who have a lot to play for Millwall (a) Charlton (a) Derby (a) QPR (a) Ipswich (h) Huddersfield (h)

I think we'll be okay to be honest.

I just read that Gary Player played the Masters fifty three times. That is some record.

Daily Report

Profit on Month £206.23

Outstanding Bets £4159.78

Free bets to use £55 Betfered, no expiry

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Aia1Hxq-NDNWdFk3UmlTSXMzTjRBTVNfOWRndVFsZHc&usp=drive_web#gid=23

A loss of £136 yesterday with 5 placed bets and five losers

- the tennis match was 2 sets to nil. the wrong way round

- Mr Chisnall, 6-5 down has two darts at double 19 to secure a 6-6 draw for a £200 profit, and loses 7-5

- Mr Wright is 6-5 down needing to win the leg and hit a 180 to land two bets, and loses 7-5

- Mr Wright loses his other game to the normally pococurante Mr Anderson

So, one of those days

We have had a decent start in the US Masters with only Zach Johnson at +6 out of contention in our various bets

Adam Scott -3 despite a double bogey in the round

Gary Woodland -2, very encouraging stuff

Brandt Snedeker -2, always looks likely to go deep in majors these days

Jordan Speith -1, displaying flashes of temper and signs of a highly strung mien

Fred Couples -1 joint top senior and top 20 so far

Charl Schwartzel +1, consistent but not holing many

Sergio Garcia +2, displaying all the touch around the greens of an orang-utan trying to open a banana

the Scott and Snedeker bets are win only, and hopefully amongst this lot there will be a couple of sweats come the Sunday back nine

Looking at the overall shape of the leaderboard, probably advantage no previous winner over previous winner, though we win on both.

elsewhere the Yankees beat the Red Sox 4-1 last night and are 5-5 after ten games, top of the AL East. Probably a better start than we were looking for

PennyPower are still going 5 places 1/4 odds - some other books might be as well but oddschecker isn't accurate.

The wind is forecast to get up later in the day and Louis Oost has an early start, so I wouldn't be surprised to see him the leader by the end of the day.  Penny have him at 16-1 with the 5 places.

I also like Watney at 125-1 with Baldie - only 4 places though.

Yes, we ran pretty bad there, but it all evens out in the end.

Loved pococurante

Never heard of that before; had to look it up.

careless; indifferent.

Note my profuse use of semi-colons.

I thought that was great too, and very insightful re course management at Augusta.

Morning.

Ain't the Masters great?!

Refresh finger when you're at work then home to a chorus of abuse as you red button all night and ignore the "can we at least watch Estenders?" plea.

Hadn't noticed that we had win only on Sneds. An interesting display of confidence in a 50-1 shot there Tikay!

I think modern day golf coaches may argue that all things considered Mr Watson and Mr Furyk have equally challenging swings to work with.

No Draws in the Darts last night. Chizzy had three darts against Barney but no good.

The Power won and is starting to look ominous.

What is it with the cameraman and Jackpot? Does he hate him that much that he refuses to get him in shot?

Or is it something more sinister and he is actually the AntiChrist?

Maybe there's a clue in what car he drives?

Adam Scott made a great start to his Masters defense.

Fred has this Man in contention after day one.

Fred is also in contention after day one.

We have a Couple (groan) of bets on him.

Just your average seven foot five High School Basketball player.

Guess his career is mapped out for him?

One of Ice Hockey's bad boys goes airborne.

You wont see much worse than that.

They reckon going to the Masters is once in a lifetime?

Just as well if that's what you rack up in the merchandise stands.

Masahiro has made a good start.

You would expect that mind after shelling out $175,000,000.

This Guy won again last night.

Any ideas?

Later.

Dog Farloe Tango???  Run last night at Hove and was it's usual super star self.  I nearly put it up at 9/2 for the St leger on here last week ante post before the heats of the Regency started last night where it was evens outright to win it.  Given how it gives awesome dogs a start and a beating in it's races still not entirely sure 7/2 isn't value as well. I know it's got to get there etc etc in one shape dodge the irish runners as well.  Just open for discussion with the dog boys.

Think there is a misunderstanding there Adzy, I'm quite sure I backed Sneddy Each Way.

Bump incoming......

Yup, no point going mad unless you get some love for it.

OK Mr Adz. I don't get a deal of love these days, but maybe it's over-rated.

We have had, for now, £5 EW on Mr Snedeker.

The Masters, £5 EW @ 50/1, (qtr odds, 5 places) Corals, Adzy.

Just to point out, following a comment by the Bet Recommender chap, the Sneddy bet is £5 Each Way, Rich.

We can but hope for some Adzy chirping on Sunday evening. With £5 EW @ 50/1, that'd do nicely, tyvm.

this is because in the monthly transfer of info to a new sheet of the spreadsheet, all the bet information in the notes column (free bet, each way etc etc) was lost. hence we've tried to rebuild it

if anyone spots any other omissions, let me know please
