Morning Mr T.

The ATP moves on to Rome now. I think we should oppose Foggy Dewhurst today simply as his opponent, Rosol, is overpriced. If he was in his best form I would be looking at Foggy on the outright market but he seems to be in a very weird self destructive place right now. It is possible that playing in his home country could bring out the best in him but I wouldn't rely on him.

Suggest £10 Rosol @ 3-1 Bet Victor.

On the outright market I think we should support David Ferrer. There are question marks over his main opponents in his half of the draw. Federer just had a baby, Djokovic been injured, and Nishikori probably won't play. Ferrer's record against Djokovic is 5 wins in 20 games and he has never beaten Federer but as you saw from his match with Nishikori he is a fighter and he is healthy.

Suggest £10 e/w David Ferrer @ 14-1 Victor, Paddy, Ladbrokes.

Just a quick thank you for the Nishi bet, hector.

For a 20/1 shot, we had a great run, & were perhaps a tad unlucky with his injury in the Final, but even so, a very nice profit, thank you.

We have a tiddlearse 30p at 100-1 Jordan Speith to win the open

after Sawgrass, 6 top 15's this year etc, albeit with some temperament difficulties in the later stages of events

shouldn't we make this into a sensible position sooner rather than later?

40-1 in spots http://www.oddschecker.com/golf/open-championship/winner

28-1 for the US Open http://www.oddschecker.com/golf/us-open/winner

He is the next big thing, he is going to break through (possibly needs 12-18 months maturity and seasoning) and we are on the right side of him and have been for over a year.

30p on the spreadsheet on him makes my OCD senses tingle!

We only have £0.30 on him?

I'm pretty sure we have more than that on him, but I'd need to do a search of my Accounts to be sure.

The memory of "forgot to confirm" looms large in my mind.....

best of luck today Trevor (typhoon13 is on the UKIPT £1M final)

that's an awful lot of beans to be able to trade Finnish second division handicaps with (oh, and a bit of wheat and barley)

I reckon he'll be back into gold after today.

Best of luck Trev.

I thought Mr Speith behaved much better yesterday when things weren't going his way.

I still can't warm to him though.

He is in contention every week but seems to struggle when in the lead.

I'm not sure thats right, but I do get confused easily.

I'll look properly later.

Can't access Ladbrokes "My Account" at present, & searching SpoilSports "My Account" needs someone a lot brighter than me to navigate.

Yes, all agreed, but I think we must remember his age - not 21 yet.

Kaymer is 30, Garcia 34, & Furyk is 44. These guys have been refining their game, & gathering experience, for many years now. Against them, he is just a bit of a kid, & Furyk is old enough to be his dad.

He has an astonishing talent for one so young, & I'm pretty sure almost any 20 year old Golf Pro on the Circuit should be expected to improve with experience & age.

I think he is great to back for a place or on the spreads for finishing position. Really is up there EVERY week.

I backed him a while ago, but I note he is still available at 12s with Coral for the PGA Money list 1,2,3. He is within touching distance of third at the moment and has the appetite to play as much as anyone.

Does the bet include the fed ex cup thing at the end?  Those payouts will skew the earnings pretty heavily.  So much of the time we are backing him at 12/1 to win the final tournament of the year?

I love Spieth as much as anyone, and had to just hold myself back having loaded Coral.

Edit.  Found this, and don't think they do.

100% up for that, all over it, and a great season-long sweat, though Doobs has asked an interesting question, (Fed-Ex skewing the numbers) do we know the answer?
