Most of my bets are thought out carefully but this one comes into the fun category. Tonight Benfica play Sevilla in the final of the Europa league cup thing. What makes Sevilla a bet tonight is the " curse " that was put on Benfica over 50 years ago. The full story is here.

They have now lost 7 European cup finals since the curse was instigated, and I have been the recipient of much wealth on the back of it.

Suggest £20 on Sevilla to lift the trophy @ 13/10 with Betfair, make sure you don't click win in 90 mins by mistake.

In the tennis, Giraldo got injured and retired after 1 set so that was a loser. Ferrer eased through yesterday, and in better news Federer got knocked out today. Tomorrow could be Murray time again.

I may have to put my own curse on Djokovic's dodgy wrist to make it easier for Ferrer to get to the final.

People forget that firms pay out early on these things for PR reasons when it suits them and their book.  They are under no obligation to do so because their competitors have.  Pretty sure nobody has had a bet on a player to be named in the initial squad but to actually get on the plane to Brazil as part of the FINAL 23.

I think Mr Posh Bloke was just being a little ironic as to fans running football.
