All the mainstream bar Billy are this week Tal

Cool. I've got the remaining 89p to invest after getting the attempted £7 bet cruelly reduced yesterday Smiley

Not going unless I hop over last minute to just play the main.

Really fancy a summer of enjoying the Derby, the World Cup, Royal Ascot, Wimbledon, all the evening racing, the US Open and stuff from here. Can't get any enthusiasm for going there so I thought I'd stay at home.

What?

Who is going to mark my card in the WSOP then, which you normally do?

Might have to sell some more action now.

6/4 Sri Lanka for the ODI series has now become 5/4 general

Here is the work behind the recommendation last night

The series is as follows

22 May: 1st ODI, The Oval

25 May: 2nd ODI, Chester-le-Street

28 May: 3rd ODI, Old Trafford

31 May: 4th ODI, Lord's

3 June: 5th ODI, Edgbaston

England's squad includes Alistair Cook as captain and James Anderson returns to spearhead the bowling attack. For Sri Lanka Mahela Jayawardene and Kumar Sangakkara return to strengthen an already powerful side.

Sri Lanka are a serious one day unit. They have won each of the nine ODIs they have played this year, including the Asia Cup in March. A powerful batting line up, complemented by a well balanced bowling attack with the death bowling of Malinga, the seamers of Kulasekara and Matthews and the wrist spin of Mendis and Senanayake mean this is a really tough challenge for an England team that is in the midst of a gradual rebuild.

So it is interesting to see bookmakers price England as 4/6 favourites for the five match series, and Sri Lanka are available at 5/4. On all known form, and looking at the number of match-winners on each of the two sides, there is no reason why Sri Lanka should be underdogs. Yes, conditions in England in May are far removed from where Sri Lanka really thrive, on the dry pitches of the Asian sub-continent, but the recent hot spell gives every chance of dry true pitches on which Sri Lanka will thrive.

For England, with Stuart Broad injured and Graeme Swann retired, the bowling line up really is a work in progress as we saw in the T20 international. James Anderson remains a top class performer but the supporting cast is both inexperienced (Jordan, Gurney, Woakes) and in some cases in little form (Bresnan). This is no more evident than in the spinners ranks where Swann's absence leaves a huge hole in the line up. His replacement, James Tredwell, is not currently being selected for his county Kent and is far less effective a stock bowler (a crucial component of a five man one day bowling line up for the middle overs)

England's batting is stronger with the likes of Bopara,  Buttler and Morgan all capable of scoring quickly  and complementing the steadier Cook, Bell and Root but they are going to have their hands full against Sachithra Senanayake and Ajantha Mendis if the weather holds and the pitches are very dry for these games.

I see Sri Lanka at odds-against as a solid bet. To my mind they should be odds-on favourites and pricing them otherwise way-overestimates the current England side's potential in this format, as it did in Tuesday's T20 game where Sri Lanka won cosily.l

Morning Mr T.

Not done any outright bets for the tennis this week as the 2 touraments are very poor quality. Today, however, I do like a bet in the Isner/Sock game. There doesn't seem much between these 2 players, in their previous clay match Isner won 2-1 with 2 of the sets going to tiebreak. Sock is 7 years younger and is likely to have improved far more than Isner since that meeting and has a string of recent victories to boost his confidence. At odds against it is worthy of a modest wager.

Suggest £17 Sock @ 23/17 with bwin.

BET SUGGESTION

http://www.oddschecker.com/football/world-cup/top-african-team

Very interesting market this, a fairish amount matched on betfair already and most of the firms have not reacted at all.

IVORY COAST

Probably should be favourites. The last chance for the golden generation to do something on the big stage. They have a very very inexperienced coach and some gaping holes in there squad depth. To short to qualify from their group and to short to be top african team with the firms.

GHANA

Nearly every firm has them as second favourites in this market still despite Betfair telling us differently. They have enough talent to do ok but the last two Cups of Nations suggest there are massive rifts in the camps and the egos have taken over. Not for me.

NIGERIA

This is a Nigerian side that goes right against the stereotype. No egos, teamwork aplenty lots of home based players an excellent coach in Keshi who has turned them into a tough and tactically intelligent side.

They may lack quality of recent sides but they have more heart and certainly more astuteness. Personally i have them favoured over Bosnia to qualify with Argentina (feel Bosnia are overrated after a very easy group) It would be great for Keshi to be rewarded for trusting domestically based talent and ignoring the many calls for his job ever since he has taken over. Do not underestimate the Super Eagles.

CAMEROON

Neigh chance very tough group politically rumblings with Fifa in the background cant have them even at best price of 10/1.

ALGERIA

Emerging nation and a best price of 16/1 is tempting, as the odds suggest they will struggle to get through a toughish group. They should do better than many think but to win this they need to qualify probably to much to ask.

SUMMARY

I would not be utterly amazed if no African sides qualified this time around. They all have big doubts, at the prices i am very much against Ivory Coast and Ghana.

At 4/1 with two firms still (betfair price 3.9 plenty of liquidity) they demand a fair bet.

SUGGEST £50 NIGERIA TOP AFRICAN TEAM 4/1

If anybody is that way inclined, Nigeria can be arbed for a 4.9% yield, Cameroon for about 1.4% yield and Algeria for 2.3%ish yield.

Top spot horsey.

As they can be laid at 3.9, we should be having way more than £50 @ 4-1.

Suggest we ping in a max of £300 and then lay some back. Best be quick though.

Bit of a shocker, they seemed quite solid. Wonder how it will affect his game?

Great spot, but not for Fred, as only Satan quote 4/1, most others are 3/1, with 2 Firms going 7/2.
