Tighty, are all the top tryscorer bets dead now?

Sorry if I've missed it, but I've got a few tryscorer bets (including one for Tikay) still listed on my 'other sports' sheet.

Tighty is going to be AWOL today, so I'm in charge, & will deal with questions like that.

I lolled.

Then started thinking up questions for u while you're manning the fort.

What's your preferred bet for the £50 free in running on 365 tonight and why pls?

And also....what's the tie breaker between the yankees and orioles if they finish level?

And also....what's the NBA's concussion policy and does that mean Paul George is out for the Pacers tonight?

And also....

It's the Indy500 this weekend. Is that it?

If not, there's a big NASCAR event on, too.

That is indeed the yard of bricks at the Indy500.

I was watching the morning line, and still half asleep, so missed Tikay's group of posts...

I'll deal with that!

No idea, you'll have to wait!

Oh, wait, Tighty is here!

The Gatewood race only has 4 runners so please nobody else back that one.

Bugger (official), my bad, I thought there were 6 runners.

Yes two non runners. Should have been safe with 6 runners probably need to wait to nearer the off in 5 runner races.

Yep, the yankie petrol heads will be all over Indy, the la di da F1 is pretty much ignored  Cheesy

A few contacts in the states have pointed to some value in backing Scott Dixon. He'll start on the 4th row. But the Chip Ganassi Racing team has found good speed in race trim. A past Indy500 winner & triple Indycar champ he has the experience & consistency to be in the mix. 12/1 looks a decent punt?

I tend not to bet on Indy or US Racing in general. In my experience, it can be far too random and unpredictable to make stable and consistent profits from.

Thoughts on Magnussen at Bill to finish in the points at Monaco at 5/4? Worth a punt?

Nico Rosberg currently 15/8 with StanJames for pole position - there is definitely value there.

Personally, I do think Hamilton will get the pole, but Lewis is struggling with his car set-up, and although he did top the third practice session that was only because Nico Rosberg caught traffic on his flying lap.

If you have the money to spare, it is worth a bet on Rosberg - definitely a strong chance, much better than the 15/8 suggests.

I think your right generally, but the bigger prices give value if you can drop on the driver & team with progression & experience for certain races imo. Higher variance obv.

I did that exact bet on Wednesday:

"Bet Victor
Points Finish: Kevin Magnussen @ 5/4 - £1"

And although I'm less confident that it will happen now, it probably is still worth a punt.

Then again, there is better value in the points finish market out there. Vergne and Kyvat at 5/2 with Sky Bet looks like decent value to me.

It's the Indy500 this weekend. Is that it?

If not, there's a big NASCAR event on, too.

Now then, in case your Cousin texts you to ask........

The Indy 500 is held at the Indianapolis Speedway, aka "The Brickyard", & oddly, the Brickyard has a "yard of bricks" (see Tonji's photo) which is on the start fnish line.

Originally, it was a tarmac surface, but many drivers were killed or suffered horrific injuries, so eventually it was entirely paved with bricks - 3 million of them.

Later, as speeds increased, the bricks were replaced with tarmac, except for the traditional yard of bricks on the start-finish line.

The venue is the largest capacity sports venue on earth (reputedly) with seating for 400,0000 spectators.

F1 was held there in the 50's & early 60's, & it was the British F1 cars that introduced rear-engined racing cars to the USA. Prior to then, the American cars were all front-engined.

At the time, there was a media-inspired "Motor Racing Triple Crown", being the Indy 500, Monaco F1 GP, & the Le Mans 24 hours. Only one driver, ever, achieved it - Graham Hill.

The Indy 500 is full of tradition, with stuff like the "Victory Lane Bottle of Milk", & the famous "Gentlemen, start your engines".

The Indy 500 is always held on Memorial Day Weekend, but practice & qualifying takes place over a 3 week period, & includes "Fast Friday",  "Carburation Day" & the like.

700 different drivers have taken part in the Indy 500 - but not one of them with the surname "Smith", ever.

There, that's repaid you for Burkino Faso (or Upper Volta, as was). I had to spend an hour researching the place yesterday after you mentioned the place, & Ouagadougua. (The women have, on average, SIX children each).
