Went into my local betfred shop today. Sigh, really not a "nice" atmosphere maybe i picked the wrong shop but i even in my short betting shop life they used to be a lot nicer environments. What im getting at is the quality of person you seem to get betting on the horse to machine punters is a huge difference. Today i witnessed a guy openly selling drugs in the betting shop, rolling up joints, then using the money to bet on the machines. I asked at the counter if they were going to do anything and but the response was just a shrug of the shoulders.

I went into a Betfred shop today that I had never been in before. I tried to bet £300 on a horse at 7/1. The lady said she would have to ring it up and I was offered £300 by the trader. I said thank you and paid.
Ten minutes later I wanted to bet another horse at 5/1 and tried for £300 again. The same lady rang the trader and said
' this lady just tried to bet £300 and you offered her £100 and now she is trying to bet £300 again'
The trader again offered me £100 and I said thank you and paid.
As I was leaving she said ' just to let you know I will be ringing up all your bets in future'

Lovely

You can also follow it InPlay on Bet365.com and that updates much quicker. You don't need to have a bet, just login.

Anyone know Lewis's exact average in game 1?

Aidan O'Brien says he could run four, Australia, Geoffrey Chaucer, Orchestra and Kingfisher, in the Derby.

We wouldn't like the ground to be soft for Australia, says O'Brien.

Western Hymn each way with Hills is 16/1.  Lose a bit on the win on Betfair but gain on the place.  I was going to wait, but maybe should just put some on now.  Horse should be good on the soft has solid form.  I like the place more, as may find one or two better.  We should be looking to back something anyway as the favourite looks too short and the 2nd favourite hasn't done enough to justify that price.  Maybe 20 e/w for now will be fine?  Pray the rain continues obv.

Epsom weather next week unsettled, says clerk Andrew Cooper, but not heavy volumes of rain. Watering doesn't look likely this year.

Western Hymn handled hill well, changed his legs and head carriage better, Gosden adds.

Chatted with fellow blonde about this a week or two back when I backed Western H. I don't mind his head carriage at all, as it is normally awkward when racing in behind other horses,  and then when he goes past them it seems to improve noticeably. I suspect/hope it is a case of being keen to get in front, hopefully at the right time,in other words it not a sign of being ungenuine. Yup, I'm not a trainer but I have seen enough over the years to hazard a guess.

FWIW, I love the O'Brien wonder horse stuff. It means we get better prices elsewhere. GL
