Betfair are paying SIX places on each-way bets at the Scottish Open
http://btfr.co/ScottishOpen
Golf is our worst sport, unsurprisingly i suppose trying to pick winners of 60-80 runner majors mainly
its the open at Royal Liverpol/hoylake next week
the market for Royal Aberdeen is as follows
http://www.oddschecker.com/golf/scottish-open
I like the look of
Thongchai Jaidee
for the Scottish Open (40/1). He has come 1st, Tied 5th & Tied 2nd in his last 3 European events.
Suggest £5 EW
Singles
Odds Stake
Scottish Open 2014
40/1
£260.00
Thongchai Jaidee
Scottish Open Winner
£5 EW
1/4 1,2,3,4,5,6
Bet Ref: O/0140260/0000050
https://www.betfair.com/sport/golf
for the rest of the market paying six places
Just about everyone is going 6 places
Also don't bet on golf until you know the draw and if there is any weather bias (there probably won't be with this bet but as 8 firms are offering 40-1/6 places, we can wait a day) - I'm sure bobby1 said this in the early days of the thread but it is always ignored.

its not ignored, that assumes its remembered to be ignored. its forgotten.
thank you for the reminder

Tighty.
Have you seen enough of Pujara on this tour to know if he is a good thing for top India bat? I know he has the temperament for it but I have to wonder if he has the right technique to play seam. Without seeing him I make it a toss up between him and Kohli. If the English attack was that of a few years ago I would be looking at Dhoni e/w.

This coming Saturday will see the start of an event which I absolutely love, but one which will bore to death most on here.........it's Fishomania time again!
I'll do a bit of a write up soon if you guys are interested in a bit of value. Each competitor has had to win a qualifier where only 1 goes through to the final from up to 200 competitors.
In short, we have a 16 man field, and prices range from 6/1 up to about 25/1. Could be value for you maths guys out there.
More to follow....
good stuff.
you win it by weight of fish caught, right?
That is correct yes.
As soon as I've done my research on wind direction, recent results on the lake, air temp etc etc (bored yet?)
I'll be back.
Had a day at Fishomainia in one year, was great fun tho got sun stroke and didn't know mi arse from mi elbow by the end of the day.
One thing which I am sure you will know is the draw in this can sometimes be more important than say the Eurovision draw used to be. Think the year I went the guy drawn in a good wind spot in (either trap 1 or near the outisde box won well) Do you know if draw has been made yet?

Afternoon Mr T's.
As Tighty is in agreement with me I will suggest we back Pujara to be top India batsman in the series. We know he has the temperament for it and I think it is between him and Kohli. Pujara has scored well on this tour so far, and will bat at 3, ahead of Kohli. In addition he is an unofficial Fred hero so that is all we really need.
If anyone else feels the need to endorse a Tighty selection for Fred then they should do it soon, as it starts tomorrow.
Suggest £30 Pujara top India bat @ 7/2 with Paddy, Coral, Betfred.
I upped the stake a tad as Tighty agrees with me.

I couldn't get the 4/1 with Bet365, well only for pennies
only 3.9 on the exchange
sportsbook
Test Series
£30 @7/2
£135.00
Cheteshwar Pujara
Top India Series Batsman
Bet Ref: O/0140260/0000052
in the market beyond Kohli and Pujara we have Dhawan and Murali Vijay. Dhawan's technique is a concern. Vijay is not a consistent enough scorer yet
Gambhir is the reserve opener. Nohit Rohit might be the batsman sacrificed to get 5 bowlers in (two spinners if they are thinking straight) and bat Dhoni at 6
so the 14/1 Dhoni isn't the worst shout in the world. Probably needs bad weather to green up the pitches for a bit and test the top order though

stage 5 of the TdeF tomorrow is a mini paris-roubaix, with 9 cobbled sections
and rain forecast
it is likely to throw up surprise results, plenty of drama etc
can we come up with some left-field thoughts on possible bets for such an unusual stage?
after all a sprinters stage is pretty predictable..Kittel is 2/5 to win today's.....
Cancellara will be a beast on this stage, & likely to be priced at near evens. But should have some decent prices elsewhere.
I'll have a closer look later today, & throw out some thoughts.
Some thoughts have been jotted down on the Cycling thread already.
(cant get on myself, but have some 9/1 ftw on betty already) but BaldFRED: Sagan 8/1 looks good to me. £10.00 win.
Maybe a few others later, awaiting team reports after todays stage for any clues on how tomorrow may go.

Bald very keen to lay the jolly in top scorer market at 8/11 at the world cup. Just laid a chunk at 4/6 on bf and got a very sizeable chunk on at bald in shops and online. Worth a bet for fred. Would suggest £55 at 8/11 bald/totesport or paddy. This is obviously bald just 'locking in' a profit on the coup and giving it away. They are the worst firm for doing stuff like this.

Big Phil Scholari and the Brazil players don't know what to do at 5-0 down.
Word is Paulinho's going to take the half time team talk.
