Good news: We have £1 exposure to Brazil to win the World Cup
Bad news: We have no exposure to Germany

Opposed the flakey Brazil side in the last 2 rounds. Precisely 0 pence on Germany tonight. Anybody back them?

Can lay Brazil at 230 to qualify for the final. Anyone got an account with £230m in?

stage 5 of the TdeF tomorrow is a mini paris-roubaix, with 9 cobbled sections
and rain forecast
it is likely to throw up surprise results, plenty of drama etc
can we come up with some left-field thoughts on possible bets for such an unusual stage?
after all a sprinters stage is pretty predictable..Kittel is 2/5 to win today's.....
Cancellara will be a beast on this stage, & likely to be priced at near evens. But should have some decent prices elsewhere.
I'll have a closer look later today, & throw out some thoughts.
Some thoughts have been jotted down on the Cycling thread already.
(cant get on myself, but have some 9/1 ftw on betty already) but BaldFRED: Sagan 8/1 looks good to me. £10.00 win.
Maybe a few others later, awaiting team reports after todays stage for any clues on how tomorrow may go.
BMC have had a fine start to the Tour with TVG & Greg Van Avermaet both showing strongly. The team are certainly hoping to put Van Avermaet in yellow tomorrow. He has the cobble skills to do some damage, having raced Roubaix six times, often in the top 20 & a best result of 4th in 2013.
Crucially the team car is in good position for punctures & mechanicals.
Laddies 20/1. £5.00 EW.

I did but prob just recouping previous losses as been backing against them since knockouts started too. Was most gutted by the wedge I had on Chile to qualify at a good price.

These 1000/1 layers are too good. They always know! Never in doubt! Just the £62 to sweat now on 7-0 at 1000/1 for presumably the same money buyers!

Rodrig 5/4 top scorer bald again. People asking for evens on betfair. If anyone is around and can get it for a freeroll. Bald seem very keen to get him in the book.

Tighty & Tikay, copied over from the Cycling thread, my final selections for stage 5.
I'm all about going against Cancellara, on the theory the stage is more of a lottery than normal, particularly with the dire weather forecast. The shorter stage length & the fact his team support cars are well back add further doubts. (Que a masterclass from Spartacus!)
Sagan 9/1 win. Best bike handler in the peloton, can win from distance or sprint from a reduced bunch. Has the ability to keep up with any power surges that may come from Cancellara or Vanmarcke.
Greg Van Avermaet 20/1 EW. Pretty sure the opportunity to ride into yellow is motivation in itself to be in the final mix. Never afraid to attack from afar, but rarely wins! perennial podium spots. Tomorrow is the best day to change that.
John Degenkolb 15/2 win. A fine 2nd in Roubaix, & fast in a sprint, he was close to Cav in the recent Tour of California. Giant are on form & the team will be all riding in support of him with no GC riders to worry about.
Sebastian Langeveld 80/1 EW, small banzai. Garmin have hinted they will unleash some risky tactics. If they pay off he could well benefit. Certainly has excellent form winning his National Road Race, & more than solid Roubaix record of seven starts, with a 7th & 8th finish in the previous two years.

The first couple have shortened by about 30% so I presume are not great value to bet now?
The last two are still available in one place each but the 80-1 shot pays the top 3, rather than 4.

A loss of £1 yesterday. About 9 months ago we were restricted to a pound on Brazil to win the world cup at (prophetically) 7-1 by Ladbrokes. You might have heard, that bet lost yesterday.
