No bets completed yesterday, probably because neither of us were around to place West Ham.
I was busy elsewhere yesterday, but I did have the time to place that bet, just not the inclination, & so I sort of gently ignored it.
Even now, yes, I agree the price looked tremendous value. But we say this time & time again - don't go overbaord with football matches until at least mid-September, & I'm inherently distrustful of early season form.
Just look at some of the current results. Swansea on max points, 3 wins in 3, Man U two points & two goals in 3 games despite what looked the softest of starts. It's Christmas for the bookies at this time of the season.
In addition, the end of August approaches, & we don't want to damage our profit for the month, do we?

best to delete photo before Karabiner sees it......
His shirt is tucked in though, must give him credit for that.
Doubleup beat me to it about the cupped left wrist.
The tie reminds me of my dad who often went out for a few holes wearing one.

Ryan Moore often plays in a tie. Only golfer I've ever seen wearing a hoody mid-round as well. Interesting chap!

Fantastic!
Love it.
I'll follow Ryan now.

NFL: Team to Concede Fewest Points in the regular season.
I'm wondering about this one. Spent a chunk of yesterday afternoon researching defences, as you do...
Market is dominated by the Seattle/Niners/Cardinals (who are all in the same division) and the Panthers. Panthers are very strong up front and formidable in size, but they have a schedule against pocket QBs (who like to throw it deep) at a time when their secondary is in question, so their weakness could well be exposed this season.
How about a team that should win its division, has a strong passrush, the leading individual tacklemaker and a very useful secondary? Cincinnati Bengals @ 14/1. Here's a preview to give you a sense of what I'm chuntering on about:
http://athlonsports.com/nfl/cincinnati-bengals-2014-team-preview-and-predictions
I like the look of this team this year personally. On both sides of the ball, they have some big individual players but they have a much improved defence. Their division is blessed by some moderate, rather than spectacular offences, with Pittsburgh the closest to a big threat in the two games they play in the division.
I know Fred has trouble getting on with the shouty red man, but he's the only one with a market (despite calling it "to concede least points"
). I would have expected a price nearer 9-10/1, so am thinking something around the £20 mark?
Recommend £20 on Cincinnati Bengals to concede the "least" points this NFL season with The Believer, Mr Brightside and the rest of the gang.

(i think the Steelers could well win the division)
but i did agree the Bengals defense looks value here. in part because the 49ers defense regresses.
http://www.oddschecker.com/american-football/nfl-specials/regular-season/team-to-concede-least-points
anyway, all on geno atkins, rey mualuaga and colleagues
playing in an outdoor division, where the weather gets rough against opponents offensively challenged might help too
http://www.ourlads.com/nfldepthcharts/depthchart/CIN
unfortunately, we were restricted to £1.57
so unless anyone can help, we are stuck

Has there been a more puzzling transfer in this window than Vorm to 5pur2?
£4.5M was the fee too.

The set up of the two teams in Spurs v Liverpool suggests little change from the games of the recent past between the sides. My correspondent tells me it's warm today and, with pace and intent aplenty, the benches are going to be important. Patrick Parr says it's 10/11 there's a goal after 75 minutes on the clock. I disagree. I know Fred can't get on with him, so is there another angle for taking advantage of this that where Fred can get on?

Seems like a very good bit of business to me. We need a second keeper and he's a proper replacement. We are hoping to have more games this season...

Why is Friedel on the bench then

Honestly? I don't know. May have a knock. Think the fee was £3.5m, although that doesn't matter.

Do you think Friedel may be going?
That sounds like the only logical explanation to me.
