There is some value in one game tomorrow night. Not for fred but for those lucky enough to have a sid james account (don't all rush)

Alex Pearce has 2 goals in 5 games for ROI and looks much more of a threat than he does for Reading. Sid have him 40/1 first and 40/1 last despite being one of the shorter firms at 11/4 anytime.

Considering ROI are 1/50 best price i have had a fair bet on both whilst covering my stakes at 11/2 with koral (anytime scorer)

Lovely looking bet horsey. Thanks.

Hi Rick, I fancy Wrexham at home to Grimsby. Price is currently 6/4. Alan Alger, who I find extremely good from Betting Emporium tipped them during the week against Halifax. They were very unlucky registering 17 shots on goal away to an automatic promotion chasing team. Grimsby are struggling with a couple of injuries and it is no secret that they are desperately trying to sign a striker. I can't see past a home win....................

Since then Alan Alger has also recommended Wrexham on Betting Emporium. This has increased my confidence to suggest it as a tip on TFT and add a few extra euros on the single!! No problem if not a bet, some readers may want to back it.

Rules of the thread usually afford a new tipster an automatic pick. Should be confirmed when tikay or Tighty log in.

Tighty will chuck a monkey on it, as soon as he logs in.

I'll chuck it in a treble like the ice cream I am, cheers Smiley

Been reading this thread with interest for a little while but this is my first contribution. I live in Berlin and I follow German football especially Bundesliga.2 (their version of the Championship). I'm not a big sportsbetter but I am an occasional punter.

Bwin's market for top 4 in Bundesliga doesn't look right to me.
http://www.oddschecker.com/football/germany/bundesliga/top-4-finish

Here are the stats from last season.
3. Schalke  points 64
4. Leverkusen 61
5. Wolfsburg 60
6. M'gladbach 55
7. Mainz 54

This season Gladbach & Hoffenheim have 13 points, Leverkusen 12, Mainz and Wolfsburg 11 and Schalke 8

The odds for a top 4 finish on Bwin are as follows:

Schalke evens
Leverkusen 7/20
Wolfsburg 7/4
M'Gladbach evens
Hoffenheim 9/2
Mainz 40/1

These odds don't make sense to me. Mainz changed coaches and many viewed them as overachievers last season and they were knocked out of the Europa preliminaries (which is actually more of a plus than anything for this bet). But they are unbeaten with 2 wins and 5 draws and have much of the same team. They have beaten Dortmund and last week drew away at Gladbach. They have a record of picking unheralded coaches and punching above their weight.

Schalke and Leverkusen have been top four the past two seasons but it has been close both years and both are very inconsistent. You would expect Dortmund to be there but they have had a shocker so far. Wolfsburg and Gladbach are solid teams and Hoffenheim have had a good start. It as a very lopsided division with Bayern so strong, but take them out of the equation and I don't think it is the case that there is a huge gulf between top 6 and the rest, certainly not as big as these Bwin odds suggest. Take out the last two seasons and lots of other sides have made the top 4. Gladbach, Hannover, Hertha, Stuttgart, Werder Bremen and somehow Wolfsburg even won it.

For context, Mainz are best priced at 12s elsewhere. Any Bundesliga fans, what do you think of my thoughts on this market? Am I missing something? Obviously Mainz are outsiders but this much of an outsider? Personally I don't think so and I'm having some money on. There could also be some value with some of the other long odds teams as bwin seen to be heavily favouring the 'Big Six' but I have no idea which of them could put a run together.

That looks ridicilously out of line, palp?

If not, based on that alone, looks good.

Amen to that.

I don't want to get us "double-booked", so I'll leave it for a while in case Tighty sorts it, but we will get on this, & we will also get on bergeroo's maiden contribution I imagine. A specialist in German football can do us no harm at all.

Thanks lads, & welcome aboard.

The scene for last night's first game in the ALCS, with the Orioles hosting the Royals

The Royals took a 4-0 lead in the third inning and the Orioles replied with a run of their own

In the fifth, the Royals went 5-1 up before, towards the end of pitcher James Shields' starting shift the Orioles squared it up at 5-5

8-5 ahead, closer Greg Holland came in, gave up a run and with two further potential runs on base struck out the last batsman to give the Royals the first game of the seven game series 8-6

The Royals have played 8 extra innings this #postseason – and have outscored the opposition 9-2.

The Royals are the 1st team in Major League history to win 4 extra-inning games in a single postseason.

Game 2 is tonight at 8pm Eastern

I am not really doing these games justice, and of course since the demise of ESPN America there's no access to it on UK screens for people to get into it as they would, say, for the NFL but, as a huge underdog, the Royals have been adopted by many neutral Americans, and the atmosphere at this games is something else

Ryan Moore collects on 7-1 and 11-2 shots to go four clear of Richard Hughes in the jockeys' championship.

In Sochi Hamilton was 0.8 secs ahead of the field in FP2, with Rosberg 4th. Race-sim averages: Hamilton 0.495secs quicker than Rosberg. Bottas quicker than both (but a shorter run). McLaren pace looks strong with both Magnussen and Button mixing it. I note Magnussen is 8-1 to podium, which was interesting (Button 9/2) and both Red Bull drivers (red bull do not look competitve here) shorter in the market

6/5 a hung parliament is around the place, which strikes me as a very very good price
