Overall statistics (since February 2012)

Total closed bets: 4,184
Amount wagered: £127,921.02
Profit/loss: £4,899.66
ROI: 3.83%

Figures for 2014 are:

Closed bets: 1,489
Amount wagered: £40,846.33
Profit/loss: -£71.90
ROI: -0.18%

So, we are making 3.83% overall, but actually LOST money (£70) in 2014, which is a bit of a disappointment, but partly, I suppose variance, & of course the loss of some of our most successful Tipsters for one reason or another. At the end of 2013, we were making an unrealistic 5.7% ROI, which, given how we operate, was unsustainable I think.

Tighty has - correctly, imo - tried to do as many of the Recommendations as possible, so as to try to be more inclusive. The regular Freddies can, of course, be more selective, as they don't upset anyone by not backing their stuff.

Ideally, we'd make more money, but as long as it does not LOSE money, & it gives us all a bit of fun, I'm not fussed if we don't make a profit. I would be fussed if we became loss-making though.

I can't say that I follow the thread avidly currently but when I do look at it, the contribution that Tighty makes staggers me.

It staggers me, too.

Remarkably, I get complaints about Tighty from time to time. I think those who complain need to look at things in a more balanced way, & cut him some slack when he, perhaps understandably, makes the occasional judgemental error. There but for the grace of God & all that.

No Tighty = No Fred.

Jul. 456.46   3,140.28   14.54   141
Jun. 842.39   6,450.94   13.06   220

Feb. -467.45   2,752.61   -16.98   91
Jan. -790.49   2,778.50   -28.45   118

Perhaps the most remarkable & telling set of stats.

We lost over £2,300 in January, February & March, then went on a run of 8 out of 9 winning months.

In the context of a £70 loss on the year, that's quite telling.

I've no idea how or why we lost so much in the first 3 months, but, all in all, quite a recovery.

I suppose it's that variance thing, & sample size.

Happy new year everyone

Here is to a, er, complaint free 2015!

Vince has done the numbers so i will do a proper report again from tomorrow with a full football programme, the darts quarter fianls etc to catch up on

tonight we need Anderson to win his match to start the year in profit

yesterday

in the NBA the LA Clippers won again beating the Knicks 99-78. The Knicks have lost 19 of their last 20 games!

Cleveland lost again, with Lebron and Kevin Love missing, 80-96 to Milwaulkee

The San Antonio Spurs beat the NO Pelicans 95-93 in overtime

for the Pelicans Anthony Davis shined again, 21 points and 12 assists

one other thing i spotted yesterday...Chelsea confirmed that Patrick Bamford will stay with Middlesbrough until the end of the season...now all we need is for Leadbitter to be yanked off penalties

Latest from Electoral Calculus http://bit.ly/1D5HXe4  has LAB 5 short of majority, with the loss of over 40 seats in Scotland. continues to look good for the anti-LD bets

You can't say that! You'll have Sequin Bloke on your case if you are not careful.

Just one other thing on the year end "wrap up".

It's become increasingly difficult for Fred to "get on", we are restricted or banned by most bookies now.

To that end, a big thank you to all those who have placed bets, or offered to, on behalf of Fred, it's really appreciated.

I settled up Sonour this morning - we owed her £160 for an NBA bet - but if Fred owes anyone else any money for bets placed, please give me a nudge, & I'll settle up today, so we start 2015 debt-free.

Marky is my most generous & helpful "go to man" in this respect, but I think I'm in credit now, probably for the first time ever?

If you are going to back those two results that ordering is best.

Man U should be too short I guess*, but we get most money on if we back them.  Feels a bit swings and roundabouts, so we should probably just stick to what we first though of.   I don't fell strongly enough about it to day it is wrong amyway.

* popularity and they appear to be rated like the Man U of old.

Mr T tennis is back, and what is more our friend Mr Murray is playing Lopez in Abu Dhabi. Surprisingly I am going to suggest that we kind of back Murray in this game. I think he will be better prepared than Lopez, as he has so much to prove and Lopez is very old. Murray has a 9-0 winning record against him and I expect a straight forward win. I suggest supporting him by backing under 21.5 games in the match. Bet Victor are OOL with the rest.

Suggest £15 under 21.5 games @ 21/20 with bet vic.

P.S the match starts at 1pm.

That's what you have to love about Tighty: even when he misses, he hits.

Happy New Year, all.

Are there ever next manager markets for American Football teams?

I see Aaron Rodgers is now 1/33 for the Most Valuable Player, with only the green bookie offering a market.

Speaking of TBFKAPP (The Bookmaker Formerly Known As Paddy Power), Fred has about a pony of credit with Honest Tal Turf Accountants (I forget the exact number offhand but it's something like £26.33).

The head trader of Honest Tal Turf Accountants has a contact with an active account with TBFKAPP, so can accommodate any bets Fred wants while Fred is still in credit.

Alternatively, bank transfer, cheque, banker's draft, bag of shrapnel, etc available.

LOL @ anyone moaning about Tighty... They don't need to look at things in a more balanced way, they just need to be told to GTFO!
