Golf

It is good to have some golf stuff up.

We don't have a great record in it, though that isn't a criticism it must be high variance finding winners/places of 100+ runner golf tournaments and the sample size we have is smallish

I'll blame the person who mentioned Rory this morning first if these all go wrong

In terms of golf figs I would suggest splitting your figs to golf pre game and golf in running. Pre game going to be high variance and should be smaller stakes unless there is a strong bet at the prices. Bets after round 2 or 3 will be at shorter prices and less volatile but could be bigger regular stakes or more depending on strength as more likely to generate a return.

What's happened in the past is we've bet more pre game when it's harder to narrow down the field and then less in running. If you go 4 months betting 66-100/1 shots ew pre tourney and don't get a return it wouldn't be that unusual. If you went 4 months betting after round 2 and 3 without getting a return then it's time to take up gardening or summat. Firms still making same mistakes in running too re wanting to be close to the BF win prices but betting ew and not fully understanding the state of their place books.

Tony seems keen to have a bigger go at golf betting this year so might be the perfect time to split the figs.

Majors obv different because they will be events that firms are falling over each other to be super competitive pre event and have enhanced place terms.

Fabian Gomez played ok on his return to the tour last year.  8th 14th and 23rd.  He's 22-1 to get a top ten in the Sony with PP, a bit out of line, worth a £5?

For those that like that kind of thing, Madison Keys can be backed for the Australian Open at 100/1 in several places:

and laid at prices down to 60 on Betfair:

John Higgins has scored 3 centuries today and probably still going to lose.  Very high quality match - 50ups stand at 370 (!) at the moment.

That's an interesting Post Phil, thanks, ditto the tips earlier, 'preciated.

Anyway, have a good evening all, I'm off, I'm going down to my allotment.
