I think the key with Pulis and unders are he moans so much about defending in training he actually makes his forwards defend more than they ever have done and they stop thinking about scoring goals as much playing for him which obviously has a double whammy effect on the total goals in their games.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2004%E2%80%9305_Football_League_Championship

This is the 2004/5 final table for Stoke.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2004%E2%80%9305_Stoke_City_F.C._season#Results

Stoke's results this season.  They actually went on a 17 game streak of games going under 1.5 goals during the season.  In that streak of 17 games only two games finished 0-0.  15 games out of 17 finishing 1-0 or 0-1.  Surely that has never been done before?

Just shows you how important survival bias is in gambling.  Without that streak i doubt whether i would have had the confidence to give the game a real go longer term.

Amazing numbers.

Will be interesting to see how bookmakers price things up as season progresses.

May be a bit early but for the game on Saturday v Spurs these are the numbers :

Under 2.5 goals 31/40
Under 1.5 goals 23/10
0-0 draw 9/1
West Brom 1-0 9/1
Spurs 0-1 15/2

Probably not gone unnoticed either, but the trend for backing SPURS to win games 2-1, especially away from home makes remarkable viewing. Couple that in with the fact I have had a few little touches backing that scoreline, and also a few Opposition/Spurs Half Time Full Time bets(25-33/1) and also a little dabble on Spurs when still drawing with 5/10 minutes left. Trends are as a rule usually pure coincidence but this season and since October its remarkable how profitable these bets have been to keep my sportsbook in credit.

Just came across this on Twitter, Tighty.

Can't remember if you posted this, or was it another article?

Possibly just another offer that I've "earned" from my ice cream status.
It doesn't state anywhere that it is restricted but I guess you need to check with Coral individually.
I don't usually bet on football so that may be the reason that I got it.

Well, that was exciting.

Ms Sharapova is through to the 3rd round of the Australian Open.

She beat Alexandra Panova 6-1, 4-6, 7-5.

She was 4-1, 30-0 down in the 3rd set after Panova served two aces and was looking in big trouble. Panova also had two match points when serving for it at 5-4.

Panova didn't play like someone ranked 150 in the world but it was a very odd dip in form by Sharapova after a totally dominant first set.
She showed her renowned fighting qualities to get there in the end, though.

She will play Zarina Diyas or, possibly Anna Schmiedlova in the 3rd round.
