Can you be sent off AFTER being substituted?

a player being sent off for walking off the pitch too slowly when substituted

Can you be sent off AFTER being substituted?

yes

this was in the process of walking off

the substitute laughed, turned round and put his tracksuit top back on

the manager showed less sang froid, and got into it with the officials, and was himself sent off

If he had already been subbed, it does not seem right that he can be sent off.

I guess the debate would be whether he should be sent off and thus his replacement cannot enter the game or whether he should just receive the red card just as any non-playing player can.

I'd imagine it's the former since they probably deem the substitution to not be completed til he leaves the field.

Probably, I'm just a little unclear as to the EXACT point at which he is deemed to be subbed.

Is it at this point?

John Carver is the new favourite for the Newcastle manager's job following a gamble

"There's been a significant move in the next Newcastle manager market this morning with John Carver replacing Reme Garde as the favourite.

Carver may not have managed a win during his four-game spell in caretaker charge yet but that hasn't put punters off backing him as short as evens which is the price Sky Bet and BetVictor are now at.

Sky Bet report some "chunky bets for the North East" with the money having begun to come late last night.

The firm's rules mean they will pay out if he manages the side for 10 competitive games which may explain why they are keen to keep him onside.

Carver is 5/2 at Unibet and 888sport.

Former Lyon boss Garde is out to 3/1 with bet365, Ladbrokes and bwin.

Derby manager Steve McClaren (4/1) and Michael Laudrup (6/1) are also at single-figure prices but ex-Spurs chief Tim Sherwood, who was among the early frontrunners, is out to a best price of 18/1."

Drag it out another week, and then say JC has it until the summer.

there was another 1.03-1.04 gubbing this morning

Perth scorchers were that short in the big bash league when they reduced melboure to 113 for 5 off 15 chasing 180

Handscomb then smashed a hundred off 64 balls to take melbourne home

over £3.5m was traded at less than 1.05 Perth

Couple of the bookies that have been on Talksport in the mornings have mentioned that they're having a hard time at the moment.  Accas are doing quite well it seems.

I was talking to someone about this at the weekend and i can't remember in my 14 years in the game where they have had 6 or 7 really bad football weekends in an 18 months period like they have recently where literally every big fav has gagged up on the same weekend so many times.  Pretty sure it's not PR hype this time when they are moaning.  The other thing that is hurting them margin wise is they are all trying to out do each other being top price every fav (ie virtually always laying the 'right' price compared to bf so they are really squeezing their acca margins).  for example if you keep going 1/3 the big 10 jollies each week and they are tight 1.32/1.33 on bf even laying accas there is no long term margin in the bets even laying 10 team accas.

It's just a fact really, not "moaning".

Boxing Day broke records for most Firms as the biggest losing day on Football ever.

Last Saturday eclipsed even that, & by some way.

But it all comes back eventually, or most of it does, or re-circulates in other Gaming areas.

The Arsenal result on Sunday saved them a bit, too, as lots of accas were running on to that.

Monday Night Footrball bet volumes are the biggest of any single match as a rule, & on Monday it was 0-0, thanks to that daft penalty affair, so that was a great result for the Firms.

Last night, same thing, Liverpool & Chelsea drawing, & most of the other fancied teams failing to win, was a great night for trhe Firms.

It comes, it goes, it ebbs, it flows, but eventually it sticks to the satchels. The maths say it must.
