A large number of ancient history questions probably helped, given Lovejoy is a classicist, but we won't complain about such trivialities.

Back in the days of Bamber, the winning team of the series would play a match against a team of the Fellows/Academic staff.

They just want to get people to bet on it. It can´t happen, so the price isn´t influenced by the likelihood of it happening. 250-1 or 5 million to 1 it makes no difference. The only issue is whether they can tempt anybody to give them some money.
