I said at the time of placement I'll do the laying on my Daq account.

I've just done it. Laid Jordan, £95 after comm to lose £950.

Tiggsy is 82 at the moment! So we're just gonna have to let him run and hope he has a decent start

queens club

the draw http://matchcentre.lta.org.uk/championships/draw.html

the betting http://www.oddschecker.com/tennis/atp-queens-club/aegon-championships/winner

normally some spots to oppose favourites against live grass-courters early in the grass season. draw is also quite lopsided (wawrinka, nadal, raonic all in the bottom half)

wawrinka has a tough draw, Krygios first up

anyone spots anything, let me know please

I've heard Chambers Bay described as a "bombers paradise" which is unlike any other US Open venue that I'm familiar with, so I agree that it could well be an outsider who wins.

what would be our view on mickelson

- links type conditions, and wind likely?

- good open record, good scrambling/manufacturing shots

- second at the masters, still a force in majors if not week in week out so much these days

i suppose sub 20-1 prices a lot of this in?

I fancy him quite strongly, bet on him last week in the St Jude too but 20/1 is skinny enough. I'd have been on @33/1.

Patrick Reed looks like a bit of value @50/1+

Given the freaky nature of the course, I think this year's U.S. open could be won by an outsider.

My pin has landed on Ben Martin. He has 1 win and 3 other top 10s this year. Not the longest off the tee, he is one of the more accurate and has an impressive GIR %. This is a crucial stat IMO for most U.S. opens but more so in this course, where the greens are expected to be the toughest test.

He is at present 250/1 with scuy but a 200/1 shot in general. Looking at his performances this season, he does his best work in the first round, so could be an excellent punt for first round leader, but the prices aren't up yet for that.

Recc £5 EW and see what the first round leader market brings.

Ben Martin 310 on the exchange fwiw, but top 5 market not as attractive

some books are 6 places (but 200/1), but 250/1 5 places seemed best

Ben Martin250/1Outright - 5 Places - 18/06/2015

I know he's not done anything much recently, but Felli Lopez always seems to come alive on grass.  His game works really well on it.  50/1 for him in the top half looks too big to me?   Thoughts?

Think hes gone at the game a bit now unfortunately. I know a lot of players now are peaking aged 30+ but Feliciano, now aged 33, doesn't seem to be able to get to the net quite as quickly as he used to which is a major facet of his game, esp on grass. Also would probs have to beat Isner/Cilic/Murray to make the final.

Lets keep it simple folks.

Have you seen the amount of sand on Chambers Bay?!!

We need a guy who can play out of sand.

#1, In Sand saves- Brandon Todd. £7.5 ew @150-1

#2, In Sand Saves Justin Rose. In form, great US Open credentials £20 ew @20-1

Rose has long term good stats from sand. Brandon good last two years

Fancied a few but prices are gone for TFT purposes.

The big bet still has a couple of engagements and no prices up, but once on, will stick it on here.

On Wednesday I do quite like the chances of Amazing Maria in the Duke of Cambridge. Its the outsider, but trained by O Meara, and I can't believe he would run it in this unless he thought she had a massive chance. He has had the two runs to get to know her, booked James Doyle, and with a few of the others looking a tad over hyped, i like the 33-1.

Sadly I was very keen on Abseil in the Hunt Cup, and now a NR, so done a rather large wedge there though(for balance!).

That's a shame as I always quite liked watching him play.  I agree his speed to the net being compromised would severely hinder his chances.  Still fancy him to have enough guile to dispatch Isner though - maybe I'll just see if he is underdog for that game.
