pissing down in manchester. All wides at Belle Vue if anyone is playing the bags.
http://www.gbgb.org.uk/resultsMeeting.aspx?id=131867
No trap 1 won or placed after the first race for the rest of the 14 race card.
Arb whats Belle Vue like for a night out? Have you ever been?
Whats the best night for racing, me and a group of mates keep considering it but its on the other side of Manchester to where I live and a right fag to get to if we want to drink, but would love a good night at the dogs.
I was there last Saturday, plenty of people, good atmosphere (didn't see any hassle). Would give the snack bar food a wide birth tho.
Only been once for a Weds afternoon BAGS meeting a couple of years ago during the GUKPT manc week when a few of us were at a loose end. Was literally 20 people at the track all afternoon. No idea what it is like Saturday night. The track facilities were shockingly bad tbh. Wouldn't be a place i would be looking to go for a night out tbh without punting being the main reason for attending.
If you haven't been then give it a go. The reason the sport is on it's arse is because of comments like the above. The sport needs every bit of support it can get, get down there with your mates and enjoy the racing, I bet the Saturday night crowd is quite a good one.
Arbboy is correct that on a Weds BAGS meet there will be a coachload there max,no atmosphere cos they bet inside. On Fri/Sat nights the bookies are outside, prob a decent crowd and a good view of the track from the stands which are stepped so everyone gets to see. Six bookies so you should be able to punt away at 25% or so unlike some other tracks. Restaurant may be ok i dunno but snack bar stuff is pish.
They have 6 layers on a Saturday night? Really?
As i'm there doing the shows i gtee it. Not saying they all have balls of steel but def six.

Are there any big punters there/enough smaller punters for them all to make a living? Or most of them just 'hobby' layers who do it for the craic more than the money? The afternoon meeting we went to they laid a fairish bet given the fact they were always laying unders to the machine to us and couldn't get rid of it anywhere else and no one else there was betting at all.

Well i'd say that 4 of the six are ok and 2 'fiddlers' but on a Fri/Sat night most punter should be accomodated. I will qualify this by saying i'm inside so don't hear any bets been fired in at them. BAGS Sun/Weds good luck getting a fifty on.

we were betting race by race the afternoon we went and had no problem getting £50-£200 bets on from what i can remember. First time any of us had been to the track. I don't think anyone got knocked back.

No question about the story of the day, with an agent working his magic in somehow convincing the world his player was persuaded not to join Man United because of a phone call from Mourinho. Or possibly a conversation between his wife and Cesc Fibreglass's. Or possibly he didn't agree with LvG's management style. Or possibly he was vetoed by LvG, despite united having sent officials over days before to sort out a deal. Cue "It's always been my dream to play for Chelsea" press conference.
In Sunderland, the team's chief sponsors show their support for the team by making them favourite for relegation.

Has a sponsor ever tried to red out on a deal, two games into a season?
Ferrari say they were "bowled over by an impassioned, rousing speech" from driver, Kimi Raikkonen, in deciding to retain him as their number two driver for next season. Ok, that wasn't exactly how they phrased it, but I'm sure it's what they meant. I mean, just look at how excited he is at the news:
The war on drugs in athletics has a new face in His Royal Twentytwelviness, The Lord Sir Sebastian Coe of Middle Distance.
Arbboy has issued a statement through his lawyers that he will not be commenting at this time. However he reserves the right to do so, should it rain at Hall Green tomorrow night.
After his arrest for hitting a cyclist in his car and then banging into a petrol pump, it's hard to imagine any sportsman envies Everton's Darren Gibson. Well, spare a thought for 2013 Defensive Rookie of the Year, Sheldon Richardson of the New York Jets.

Do you still make this a bet at 50/1 with badly?

Hello
my concern would be that the situation doesn't help Funchess either. rather than going against number 2 cornerbacks he will now be up against number 1 cornerbacks in an offense that doesn't have many receiving options and could be quite run heavy (both cam newton and running back)
it doesn't look as strong a year as last year but one of winston/mariota/gordon/cooper is the most likely winner.
i have my eyes on another outsider, but want to see another couple of their pre-season games first

Probably but it's only a little bet anyway. There are better players on paper in the league, but I'm quite keen to oppose the 2 quarterback candidates, who I think have teams with plenty of issues and won't be turning them around this season.
He's half the price with other bookies. Can't be that bad a bet, can it?
Edit: points taken, Tighty. He either has the talent or he doesn't though. If he wins OROTY, he will need to shine against elite corners, like Odell Beckham, Mike Evans and Kelvin Benjamin did. Beating the second string looks good on paper but fools no one.

The going at York has gone good to soft.
I have had a look at the first couple of races and a few bookies are quarter first 4 in a race with a very short favourite and genuine rags.
I also think high draw is probably best. Lathom has such a draw and has already won a crapshoot and on softish ground. Suggest 20 e/w in multiple spots (b365, hills, chorals) at 11/1 quarter first 4 (better than vic's fifth 3 and 12/1).

The 2nd race also has a nice shape, with a few horses that aren't all that. I think quarter first 3 besharah at 4/1 (sj, shy and everyday) looks like a bit of a bet to nothing. Has the form on the ground and distance so shouldn't be out of the places and is close to bf on the win (well ahead on the place).
Suggest 20 e/w here too, and we can put that on the account.

We have £20 e/w at 11-1 1/4 1,2,3,4 with both Coral and William Hill

Entirely my fault, but in my head I typed something different (I meant the price was available in multiple spots, but clearly haven't written that!) 40 e/w is fine if that is what we have.
