Hi Weetabix,

Good to see you posting at last, saw you signed up a week or two ago.

Explanation for your alias? - I was stuck on a name, it was staring me in the face one morning.

How did you hear about blonde, or Fred - have you been lurking? Guilty, a number of years but have a lot more time on my hands these days.  A guy mentioned the website over the poker table at my local casino.

Tell us a bit about yourself, day job, do you play poker, what area do you live in. - Travelling as we speak with no intention of going back to work unless I have no other choice.  Poker has taken a backseat over the last few years.  I play once/twice a week with mates and the odd Sunday online hoping to fluke a big win.  I used to play 2-3 times a week in the old gala casino when you had 100+ turning up on a Friday night, long time ago now.  Currently live in a quiet area in Northumberland out in the sticks a stone throw away from Bamburgh.

Online is a very strange place, the normal social niceties don't exist, but it helps if we know a little about each other.

What sports do you mainly bet on?- Netball, Bandy, Lacrosse.  I figured naming the sports I don't bet on would be easier.  Huge T20, ODI punter and pretty much every other sport.

And the most important traditional Fred Newbie question......(you are obliged to answer)

Favourite Fred tipster, & why?- I would have to go with chompy in terms of profit, I have lost count the number of times I have dropped in here and jumped aboard one of these Guus Hiddink type bets.  Arbboy knowledge of the industry is very handy and interesting to read.  Ap

Thanks.

It was going so well until you mentioned Chompy.

Traditionally, he is Fred's Pantomime Villain.

This was his get up for Royal Ascot last year.

clarification from betfair sportsbook

": an individual appointed by the named club on an ‘interim’, ‘caretaker’, ‘temporary’ (including an appointment described as ‘to the end of the season’) or similar basis who remains manager in that capacity for at least 10 completed consecutive Domestic League games (including over the course of more than a single season), will be considered to have been appointed as the next first team manager for the purpose of this market and Betfair will settle the market accordingly on that person. "

hopefully ahead of Hiddink, later today

Update on the averages bet in the darts.  Last night the two big seeds Wright and Anderson averaged 94 and 99 respectively.  Nowhere near the 107.5 we have bet under.

What a great bet this is. Ty ty.

York v Morcambe on Saturday.

Both teams averaging around 4 goals per game over last 2 months.

Over 3.5 goals is 2/1
Over 4.5 goals is 5/1
Over 5.5 goals is 10/1

Looks like value to me.

Anyone got a view?

Agreed there should be goals!

York are absolute dogshit at the moment. Greening and Cresswell have left the club this week. Goalkeeper coach walked the other week as well. New manager is supposed to come in and lift a club, instead they've lost every game since his inception. Including a 6-0 defeat at Portsmouth and a 1-5 defeat against Accrington in the same week recently.

No idea on how decent Morecambe are, or their attacking ability (or lack of) but any team will have a field day vs York at the moment. If/when they go 1-0 down in the first 5 minutes on Saturday, the crowd will be on their backs and the atmosphere will play right into the away teams hands.

Both to score and Morecambe winning is 16/5 at Hills and BV, sticks out for me.

Update on Brisbane heat to come bottom of the Big Bash bet:

The favourites to come bottom (Sydney Thunder) won the 1st group game and the side who were next in the betting with Brisbane Heat (Adelaide strikers) won the 2nd group game. so definitely positive results so far. Brisbane Heat play their first game tomorrow morning at 8.40 am against the Melbourne Rebels, who include a certain Chris Gayle ...

But these two teams are only averaging roughly a goal a game each over the last 10 games.  I don't bet total goals, but that seems at least as relevant as them both shipping heaps.  2/1 on 4+ doesn't seem very appealing to me on that stat anyway.

The other key thing to factor in with these bets is the match prices.  This game is close to a coin flip (which makes it more lower scoring than any other type of game everything else being equal).  Looking at previous game stats in a vacuum isnt that important if you don't factor in how close each game was.  Obviously what doobs says is an issue as well.
