A largely pleasing set of EPL results today, especially Leicester, Palace and Bournemouth.

I wonder when Pardew will get some credit, they are what 6th with same points as Manure and Spurs, almost half way through the season?

I'm sure the haters will say its all pure luck.

Another loss for Chesterfield. Those wheels are well and truly off. Massive game for thread on Boxing Day, when the Spireshites travel to London Road.

Hey, this is a strange opening question so please go easy.

If you could pick out three betting firms that you could keep clean no matter how much you cleaned them out which ones would you like to keep?  Are these firms particularly generous with certain sports/markets?

3 x 356 accounts. Or maybe 2 x 356 accounts and a >10% Scuy one.

Just noticed Ladbrokes are still updating their Premiership handicap market. Leicester 2-7, Watford 4, Palace 16, 50 Bar. Guess we're not in a position to cover yet but worth keeping an eye on.

We are on each way with Watford and the hedge may not be perfect anyway.  Going to be lettingmibe run.

Definitely 365 is the best, not sure I'd bother with ladbrokes or shy.  You are only going to lose them 5 minutes later anyway.

Vardy now gone 7/4 premier league top scorer for those who followed Tighty in.

Mahrez ar 28/1 looks big to me.  Even with a fifth the first 3, the each way looks appealing too.  Other than Lukaku, there doesn't seem to be many making a fist of chasing Vardy down.

No thoughts on Mahrez then?

9 points behind Leicester at Christmas?

Yup Arb, ran golden today.

Was it Bojan that had the clean shot at Hennessey from about 8 yards out and he pre emptively dived and guessed right? Outrageous chance and save.

Stoke had the pressure throughout. One clear chance though in that Bojan one? Then otherwise pressure and other half chances.

Palace had one clear chance themselves that Butland expertly smothered from Bolasie. Then two stone wall pens and sheer brilliance from Lee to do the ol' smash and grab.

I think Pardew has huge ambition, more so than a Pulis that he is instilling in the players that makes them think they can get a positive result against anybody. He mentioned last week that the top 4 spot is as open as it ever it is implying heavily he thought we could sneak it that I lol'd at but it may be rubbing off on the team.

Partner that with a solid defence, set piece wizadry (running well for sure here) attacking and defending and a good counter with great flair players and we are tough for anyone in this league.

He is very Marmite, and I think people let their personal feelings override their judgement.

Than again, that may include me, as I'm an admirer of him.

He seems to me to get the job done.

updates on our Scottish bets

we backed aberdeen at 12-1 to win spl (i thought it we had e/w) but we couldnt get the odds for the e/w
aberdeen are 1 point behind celtic but we have played a game more

we backed rooney at 6-1 ew 1/4 odds 1,2,3
currently he is 1 behind griffiths and 3 ahead of the 3rd placed striker

griffiths has missed the last 3 games due to a heel injury (1 in europe 2 in league)

if positions stay the same we break even i believe but still think we have a great chance with rooney for top goalscorer
and if aberdeen can avoid another bad run like we had just after placing the bet i think we arent out of the hunt

It's a shame the big Hull defender didn't reciprocate with a full-blooded Glasgow kiss he thoroughly deserved that time though.

Obviously done a fantastic job at Palace but I'm still a little confused as to why pubis left having done so well.

Don't disagree, but I judge him on ability and results, rather than like or dislike.

I do like him though.

I think you have run like this for a long time tbh without it sounding like i am talking through my wallet today and it being against Stoke.

I would say you are both wrong and right.

Generally Palace are in tight games and that is against EVERY team we have played this season (aside from a red card affecting the west ham loss and the rout against Newcastle).

That is an achievement in itself and shows the backbone and ability to compete. We do so in a backs against the wall fashion so often that it looks like the oppo should always get the positive result, when really we are a countering team and thrive from making the most of scraps.

I could say to you some of the close draws we have had should have been wins for us to be higher in the league and adversely the same with some wins/draws should have been losses but I think we are not running too high into positive variance. After Everton and today recently I would say this, otherwise I would have said its par.

I think it's the manner in which we operate that you think we are so opposable.

Also with us being successful in set pieces means we don't even have to rely that heavily in open play goals which further lulls someone into opposing us because at times we really struggle to look potent in open play.

However, I even realise myself that could be wishful thinking and rose tinted glasses, but after seeing the full 90 of all our games this season and basically all under Pardew from January that we operate like this so consistently that I'm not sure if you can just say we are running well a lot of the time. It's just the way we play.

I'm waiting in a daunted, frightful state that what I have just written will be thrown back in my face with us going on a dreadful run but I've gone for it anyway. 😝😊
