Ha, good work Tal.

That ladies MMA (?) thing was horrible, can't believe they to that.

Good stuff Tikay, you should get involved this summer.

We'll go to UFC 200, while the WSOP is on Wink

We bloody well won't.

Don't think you could pay me enough to watch ladies fighting. In fact I'd not watch the male version of MMA either. Horrible, horrible, stuff. Thank the Lord we don't bet on it, I'd rather bet on that CBB shite.

They don't even get the crowd to sing half way through. Bizarre.

I mean they used to. This is from UFC 1 in 1949: Kelly v Sinatra.

Knockout.

If you look carefully, towards the end you can see Sinatra's legs going.

Brisbane Heat host the Adelaide Strikers tomorrow morning, 8.40am start. Heat are still bottom (1 win, 4 losses) and face top of the table Strikers (4 wins, 1 loss) so I'm hopeful of an away win to keep The Heat rooted to the bottom of the table. Strikers are 4/6 favs, with The Heat at 6/5.

Few bets that might be of interest:

Whilst I think The Heat lose, one market they look to have an advantage in is the highest 1st 6 overs. I'd imagine The Heat will look to bat 2nd here if possible. The 2 times they tried to set a total they lost pretty convincingly, they have won once chasing and put up decent fights the other 2 goes. Their batting is their strength, so it makes sense to back their batsman to try and win the game. In the 3 games they batted last they had the highest scoring 1st 6 overs each time. They average a better 1st 6 over score (46.4) compared to Adelaide (42). Adelaide have dropped quick scoring opener Simmons for the more classical Jayawardene, and have lost opening bowler Richardson to international duty. Pretty swingy bet, small sample size, but can't see why they'd be 11/10 dogs for this market.

http://www.oddschecker.com/cricket/t20-big-bash/brisbane-heat-v-adelaide-strikers/highest-first-6-overs

The other one I stumbled across was total wickets in the match. Unders looked of interest as Fekete is still The Heat's top bowler with 4 wickets, and he's been dropped for the last 2 games so they are certainly not prolific with the ball. In 5 games all their bowlers combined have taken 14 wickets. Had a check back into the games this season:

Games involving Brisbane Heat : 8, 11, 8, 13, 9 - 49 wickets in total, 9.8 per game

Games involving Adelaide Strikers : 12, 12, 12, 10, 12 - 58 wickets in total, 11.6 per game

Again, most likely plenty of variance in a bet like this (sides can easily lose quick wickets at the end of an innings going for big shots), and a small sample size, but none of their games have gone over the 13.5 line. The Heat seem incapable of taking wickets regularly and Adelaide are missing one of their strike bowlers.

Morning Nelly, thanks for these.

Tighty does not seem to be around, & it starts in 20 minutes, so I'm going to have a Big Bash at placing these bets.

This could get messy.

Heat are batting first, & racked up 58/1 in the first 6 overs.

Probably good for the "First 6 overs" bet, but not so good for the Heat to finish bottom bet.

The website I saw said they'd got to 59/1 off 6.4, but the last 4 deliveries went for 8  :-)

I'll try and get them up earlier in future, works getting in the way at the moment. Yeh, betway pulled the market on total wickets. 58 off 6 for the Heat is well above par, despite their poor bowling that should cop. Par is 180 on this ground so still in the balance here

99/3 off 11 overs now, after they blasted 3 sixes in the last over.

The Heat need to cool down.

Ha, love the cravat story. I understand Tal wears one when he is chessing. Chompy has one, too.

"Living on a Volcano" was a great read.

Good too see the dancing saveloy make an appearance last night, though a shame we were not advised to get on Mr Curtis earlier.

Heat ended on 175/6, after a big final over.

That's around a par score, difficult ground to defend and Heather bowling has been poor, so Strikers could just shade it. Should be a good chase. 58 off 6 is a good target set by the Heat, and need less than 8 wickets for that bet to cop if anyone is on. Hoping for the scoop ...
