Nadal obviously upset that they aren't going with the clay because the SA tennis is played on clay.  They are going with the hard court.  I completely forgot about it, djoko is supposed to be playing and murray is very keen to defend the gold.

Dog runs in 10 mins from earlier.  365 still 6/5.  bf opening 5/6 tight on exchange probably being held up by arbers as well so should be even shorter.  Anyone not on should be having a semi max bet on this at 6/5 if you can get it.

Great work arb....thanks!

Yup, nice one, Argue, and thanks for getting us on, Nick.

Personally, I'd have suggested £500, bet like a man and all that, but Tighty is such a wimp.

Wright is shortening I wouldn't expect 1.91 from BMU and a couple of others to be available for too much longer

Beats the 1.92 on the exchange after commission, interested to see what the SP ends up being

Heat in the glassed roofed winter gardens will effect Lewis a lot more than Wright.  I would make Wright fav but not much juice in the 10/11.   I nearly put up evens earlier tbh with lolorals as a small interest.

Glass roof?

The Empress Ballroom has an old fashioned decorated ceiling. The room they play in is an old theatre/music hall. Had a wurlitzer and everything. Have all sorts there now.

Here's the Elvis Festival, for example:

I used to frequent the place once a year for something even less strenuous than darts...

The chess congress was on at the same time as the George Formby Appreciation Society's annual event. You'd think that'd be quite an awkward diary clash for some.

Sorry glass roof on the way into the main arena.  It is like a greenhouse in there on a hot day and doesn't feel much different in the main arena.  Looks much better with the darts there!

Big win for Lewis ranking wise that is to keep him clear in 4th in the rankings with a chance to boot the power out of the top 3 in the rankings for the first time i would imagine since i was at school (or ever maybe) if he wins this event.

Yes, sticking around in a greenhouse probably isn't a good idea for a stocky Stokey.

Mind you, I know one Stokey who did ok there:

Here's what Blackpool is famous for:

Wiki says...

"It was requisitioned by the Admiralty in 1918 for military use during World War I to assemble gas envelopes for the R.33 airship, before being handed back a year later. It was re-floored in late 1934 with 10,000 pieces of oak, mahogany, walnut and greenwood, laid over 1,320 four-inch springs. It is one of the few remaining sprung dancefloors in Britain"

It has quite a history, as you can imagine. Remarkable, really.

Some Hungarian GP tips:

Race Winner - ... I was going to suggest Nico Rosberg @ 7/2 (choral, hills, exchange) which is a crazy price. However, 23/20 (boyles) on Lewis is also a mad price .. ummm, not sure what to suggest here .. both? I guess on the basis that Lewis has the momentum, if he tops the practice sessions, 23/20 will go - whereas Nico's price should get better. Suggest £50 on Lewis.

Points Finish - Jenson Button @ EVS (beewin) & Felipe Massa @ EVS (hills, betfayre, betaway) - I see both drivers better than a coin flip for this one. Suggest £20 each.

Anyone notice Khoral haven't priced up sixes for a few days?

Hopefully it's just that the odds compiler is on holiday and nobody is brave enough to copy another firm's prices. My records show that I'm personally down on these bets with them, but they keep limiting me more and more.

Winter Garden's entrance has an amazing hall of fame board going back decades of all the headline acts which have appeared there for the summer seasons going back to before even Tikay was born.  Notables on there include Darren Day, Jane McDonald and Peter Andre! Bit of a drop in class from the early days!

They go through phases of not pricing it up. During IPL they missed 4-5 games and I thought the gravy train had ended, but then they were back and still miles out in comparison to others. I'm now heavily restricted, and wouldn't be that far ahead with them :-(

Feel like a kid on Xmas Eve as I'm going tomorrow night. Its my favourite event of the year; the crowd are awesome in Blackpool and the atmosphere is always fantastic. Would not have expected to see Mervyn King or Steve Beaton when I booked the tickets in early February.

As Arb said, it will be really hot, although I'm sure me and the team will find a way to keep cool.

As Victor sponsor the event and are so happy to accommodate our action with them i think Tikay should email Mr Chandler and see if we can get some team TFT tickets for the victor box for the final on Sunday.

Ha, good luck with that. Be nice to meet up and ship you a small % of the stella I probably owe you (although our match bet on Smith Vs Chizzy probably put a dent in it.)

Would someone kindly explain to me why Liverpool are 9/1 best price to win the league? They surely can't win this division one in ten times?

United, City, Chelsea certain to improve to some degree.

I wouldn't have Spurs at 9/1 either FWIW, but I would have thought 12/1 Spurs (who at least finished in the top three last season) and 14/1 Liverpool would be nearer the mark.

Liverpool signed Winjaldum to fill a gap currently occupied by Coutinho, Firmino and Lallana. Not to mention Sturridge, Origi, Benteke and Ings up front. With the exception of Coutinho, that doesn't strike me as a league winning attack, given the efforts the other teams have made.

Exchange prices are a fairly steady 10/1 Spurs and 19/2 Liverpool (one for the old boys there), so it is clearly me who doesn't understand.

Help appreciated.

Also signed Mane to operate in that same part of the pitch. Assume they are going with the much vaunted 2-7-1 formation next season:

Mignolet

Sakho Clyne

Mane Wijnaldum Milner Henderson Llalana Coutinho Firmino

Sturridge

Bench - Lovren, Benteke, Moreno, Can, Origi, Ings, Karius

Looks a massively unbalanced and pretty average squad, doesn't it? Prices on name and manager alone imo. Def one to take on in match bets.

Before arbboy gets up and checks the thread while skimming the BAGS cards, I'd better say for the benefit of newer members and lurkers (and any odds compilers reading) there's been some chat on here for a few years about Liverpool being too short every year and the punters love to back their team, whatever the price.

Seem to recall they were 25/1 (maybe 33s) last season.

Can't get my head around it.

Also, I think Can gets in ahead of Sakho. 1-8-1 makes more sense.
