lol double win.

Not only did my local Spar still have a copy (Sainsburys didn't) but I gave the shop assistant a £20 note plus 5p for the paper and a bottle of coke totalling £3.05. I could see him trying to figure it out in his head, and for some explicable reason about 30 seconds later he gave me £21.90 in change Smiley My most profitable night in weeks.

What do I do, Tikay? Wink

You're on a gambling forum...

...put an acca on half a dozen bets from the racing post.

Tempted to go back and buy a twix with a £50 note, see how much I earn.

You know that the staff will have to make up the shortfall out of their minimum wage pay packet?

And I just ran out to try and get a copy and came up empty handed. Then heading home dejectedly, a torrential downpour opened up. Probably at the exact moment he handed you the wrong change.

Advice please guys.

Is Sporting Bet a reputable firm I should open an account with?

They have the best odds on the Newcastle championship winner bet. Beewin have the same odds, but I am limited with them.

Thanks in advance.

Never had any trouble other than sometimes limited.  Neil channing appears on their videos for cheltenham etc.

Been thinking about this for a while, and seeing the market for the SPL without Celtic clinched it for me.

The press are making a big thing of the 'return' of Rangers, and they're favourites at 4/9 for the betting in the SPL without Celtic market, with a couple of biggish name signings in Joey Barton & Nico Krankjar.

However Rangers already had a decent midfield & attack, but their defence was terrible last year & has been bolstered only by Clint Hill (age 37, freed from QPR). They let in 34 goals in the Championship last season against part time players. I'm biased as a Celtic fan, but the following is from a  Rangers fan site after their 3-1 defeat to Barnsley at the weekend:

http://www.ibroxnoise.co.uk/2016/07/did-we-really-learn-anything-from.html

Quote
Unfortunately, friendlies have two purposes; fitness and morale. In all truth, this performance and result helped neither, and maybe damaged morale.

From Clint Hill being exposed inside four minutes by the continuingly hapless Rob Kiernan and conceding a clumsy penalty, the signs were evident early on that Rangers’ defence was about to be cruely picked apart – there is zero understanding between Hill and Kiernan, and this was the first opposition to reveal the extent of it.

Time and time again the back two were bypassed effortlessly, with Kiernan out of position almost every time as Hill struggled to cope and chase. It is another defensive unit which does not work at all. It also was not helped by the equally ineffective Tavernier, who simply cannot defend in the slightest. Kiernan and Tavernier is becoming as much a problem itself as who the CB pairing is.

So the favourite is way over-valued, and Aberdeen, the second favourite had a good league season last year, keeping pace with Celtic for a couple of months longer than expected (Celtic have moved clear after Xmas in recent years) Aberdeen just not chucking points away as they have done in previous years. They haven't lost many players, haven't brought many in so a fairly settled squad. Aberdeen let in 33 goals in the SPL last season, a better performance compared with Rangers 34 in a lower league.

Aberdeen at 7/2 on Tikay's bosses are a good bet, had I funds I could tie up for the season it'd go there. As it stands I'll put £20 on it, and then after the first few games in August when Rangers have a fairly easy start, might hit it again if they're near the top &  the odds on Aberdeen move out.

Recommend £20-40 (depending on how much thread wants to tie up) on Aberdeen for SPL (without Celtic) 7/2 on SB or Corrals, but 10/3 on Billys is OK.

Got to agree with rod at rangers being over valued I think rangers will actually finish behind hearts and Aberdeen this year I hinted at this on the Scottish thread during the week but being an aberdeen fan I can't commit to us beating hearts

Huge win for Dundalk over Borisov Bate tonight in the Champions League. They are guaranteed at least a Europa League group spot now and if they win the next tie, they will be in the Champions League group phase.
For comparison, I doubt Dundalk would survive a season in the Championship, probably more a League 1 side. Absolutely massive for Irish football.

I'd echo Rod's bet.  I was looking to back Aberdeen if an e/w market opened up anywhere but when I have checked I haven't found anything yet.
Rangers at 7/2 is just lol.

As far as we know they still don't have a credit facility and paying chunks for the likes of Barton and Kranjaer is going to put pressure on the books.  They wouldn't be so stupid to start up EBT's again would they?

There must be a very real chance that Rangers suffer from a financial collapse at some point next season.

That said, I'd wait to to after Thursday to make sure Aberdeen don't progress any further in Europe as that could have an impact on them as well.  Rod mentioned Aberdeen didn't gift many points away last season but there was a bit of a rut at one point when they took 1 point from 15 and towards the end of the season they took 6 from 24.

Had they shown more consistency at those two points they could have pushed a poor Celtic side all the way.

are you saying they risk losing the likes of Waghorn? He should now he's maturing score a lot of goals again

just signed a really talented young kid from us too on a long contract, Joe Dodoo

anyway, wanted to take one of the last prices over 3/1 rather than wait

England today announced that Finn will replace Stokes in the team for the test starting tomorrow.

Pakistan are 4/1 on most sites to win this test, while I know they got a kicking last game, this England team doesn't FIL me with much confidence.

Vince, Balance and hales are all out of form and struggling, as is Ali, with both bat and ball.

Now Finn, who has been out of form for ages, has been brought in, a lot relies on Woakes, Anderson and Broad to get 20 wickets, and Root, Cook and Bairstow with the bat.

It feels like we could be carrying a bit of dead weight?

Thoughts?

It's drizzled all day here at Edgbaston but the forecast looks fairly grey but dry for the whole test so it's impossible to back the draw at the current price.  So yeah, wouldn't argue that Pakistan look decent value.  I'd still rather wait for the toss even if it will be less important in this game than any other in the series

Little bump.

Any thoughts for those that missed it?

can't be a draw (unless it rains a lot)

only want Pakistan if they win the toss.

England aren't functioning in 3 of the top 6, but Pakistan aren't either. likely to replace shan and maybe Azhar and i don't see them posting 450 at all this series. If we say 300-350 is tops, then they have to bat first and hope it wears for Yasir later on. scoring 350 won't be enough if they have to bat last having lost the toss
