Morning Tighty.

Today's superleague sees Catalan host Cstleford in a game that doesn't matter. Catalans have been woeful for several months now and have a large number of injuries to contend with. On the other hand Castleford have had notable scalps over Hull and Wigan. They have the league's top try scorer in Solomona and play a very adventurous game, so hot weather and a game that should be very open will suit them. I think the price on Castleford to win is too high.

Suggest £20 Castleford @ 7/4 with Coral or Ladbrokes.

Nice one hector, thanks.

I have it in my mind that you are not over-fond of the CESM's. Just a hunch, like.

I don't mind the CESM's at all. I just think the bookies don't take their flakiness into account when they price them up in both rugby codes. Anyway, so many of the league players are Aussies.

Quite a move on Jo Gordon's ride in the 7.10 at Wolverhampton. Dark Side Dream hasn't run for five months but has halved its price to 9/1. 9 runner dirty each way race with a Crowley Jolly.

Best each way bet seems to be Sophisticated Hair (11/2 and 3 Places 1/5 beats both sides on the exchange)

Any views from the racing folk?

Sophisticated Hair wins comfortably. Favourite second. Dark Side Dream third.

That'll do.

Step aside Adzy & Chomps.

am a bit pushed for time

2.35 Ayr has 5 places in a lot of spots

Eccleston 14/1 e/w (low draw and likes the going; nI have found it difficult to find this combination) (Hills)
next 3 are all interlinked on form
Nuno Tristan 14/1 e/w (has been running well consistently in middle, won on good/soft at Redcar) (betfred/corals/hills)
Handsome Dude 25/1 e/w (has a penalty, but has run well enough with that weight this season, and won quiote well last time, in middle (365 so that will be with me)
Intense Style 20/1 e/w (ties in with Handsome Dude.  Could have a dreadful draw, but has lots of form on soft, and not convinced the horse drawn low are the best, so just going for it)

Suggest 25 e/w them all.  Please confirm you want Handsome Dude with me

Eccleston Ayr 14:35 Winner
14/1 Each Way (5 Places at 1/4 Odds)
Total Stake: £50.00
Potential Returns: £487.50

Nuno Tristan Ayr 14:35 Winner
14/1 Each Way (5 Places at 1/4 Odds)
Total Stake: £50.00
Potential Returns: £487.50

restricted with coral on the last one, need the 5th place though so had to go there

Intense Style Ayr 14:35 Winner
20/1 Each Way (5 Places at 1/4 Odds)
Total Stake: £25.00
Potential Returns: £337.50

Handsome dude with you

Eccleston and Nuno Tristan both placed

Yup, 3rd and 4th at nice prices, well done.

Will settle up for Handsome Dude tomorrow morning

Good luck us in the Gold Cup,

Think i owe you 50 from the portland.  Can't remember if i sent.

I have just checked my bank and I didn't send last week, so we are back even again.

I just checked the weather forecast for tomorrow's Grand Prix and it isn't very promising for rain (about 30%), so we may well miss out this time (damn those Torro Rossos).   Hills went up 3 places and 500-1 earlier on Alonso (100/1 he finishes in the first 3).  Just takes a bit of rain and a coming together for him to be right in the mix and he has as good a record as any driver around Singapore.   Nobody is 3 places right now or I'd be very tempted on Vettel too (he is 150/1 in spots and can't ever be 30/1 to get 3 places here).

Would be interesting of the bookies offered odds on a coming together on various pairings.  Raikonnen qualified 5 and Vestappen 4, so I wonder if the mobile chicane is going to pull into Raikonnen's path round the first couple of corners (Raikonnen has the clean side at the start).  Raikonen must be losing patience by now?  Lewis and Nico haven't got together for a while either.

Just for info - I'm in Singapore and there was very heavy rain early this morning - looks fine now though, barely a cloud in the sky

No idea if that's if it's relevant or not for you but saw you mention the weather earlier

Liverpool matched at a lot lower odds than Man U for the title on the exchange but everywhere still has Man U as second favourites for the top 4
Can get 4/6 Liverpool top 4 with hills which also beats the exchange

Ok, so I assume I don't need to settle up for yesterday. Feels like a winner already.

We might miss the rain, & inevitable carnage & conditions we need for those banzais, but at the prices we got, that's part of the equation, & no regrets here.

As to Vettel, that's a bit painful, as we took 9/1 before his qualifying disaster. All the books have now reverted to 2 places, as you note. Think I'd deffo go in again, off thread, if 3 places were available.

Here's the current odds, for those interested;

Morning Tighty.

Today's superleague sees Leeds away at Huddersfield. Leeds secured their superleague place for next season, but Huddersfield still need to do so. Both teams were disappointing for all the regular season, but this is now a huge game for Huddersfield. If they win then they have a get out of jail free card, and I think that the home advantage and the possible holiday mood for Leeds make Huddersfield the likely winners of a low scorer.

Suggest £20 Huddersfield @ 7/4 with victor or Corals

You don't think the market has spotted that Leeds are safe and Huddersfield need to win?

Yesterday went dismally for us .. qualifying didn't go as expected at all.

Here are my pre-race suggestions:

Top Six Finish: Nico Hulkenberg @ 9/4 with the exchange (7/4+ is fine). Seems to be very well dialled in to this circuit. Force India's race pace was challenging Vettel during FP2, and that's before you include Force India's advantage on tyre life. Expecting both Toro Rosso's (or at least one) to be dispatched on the opening lap. Suggest £15.

http://www.oddschecker.com/motorsport/formula-one/singapore-grand-prix/top-6-finish

Points Finish: Valtteri Bottas @ 6/5 with Paddi and StanShames (EVS+ is fine). Don't really understand this price. He starts 10th with Alonso ahead who will inevitably drop back. I did suggest this earlier in the weekend, but it's worth topping up. Suggest £25.

http://www.oddschecker.com/motorsport/formula-one/singapore-grand-prix/points-finish
Note - 13/10 here: http://www.oddschecker.com/motorsport/formula-one/singapore-grand-prix/top-10-finish

Winning Margin: Between 5 and 10 Seconds @ 13/5 with BetStars. We appear to see this price every week, and I always consider it too high. £10.

http://www.oddschecker.com/motorsport/formula-one/singapore-grand-prix/winning-margin

Not To Finish The Race: Lewis Hamilton @ 11/2 with 366 and Hills. Lewis is under extreme pressure this weekend with the points gap in the title reduced and starting the race third, two spots behind Nico. The Lewis I know will lose his head, push too hard, and cause an incident. Lewis has matured (in terms of his driving) a lot over the last two years - but I'm still not convinced. I will be more convinced if he does a good job today though. £20.

http://www.oddschecker.com/motorsport/formula-one/singapore-grand-prix/not-to-finish-the-race

Total Safety Car Periods: 2 @ 9/5 with Beewin. 1 is 8/5 and 2 is 9/5? I would have two as the favourite personally. £15.

http://www.oddschecker.com/motorsport/formula-one/singapore-grand-prix/total-safety-car-periods

How Many Team Haas Cars Will Be Classified At The End Of The Race?: 1 @ 7/4 with Beewin. Esteban has a propensity to lose control on challenging circuits as his energy deteriorates and Romain has already been into the barriers once this weekend; and is very publicly hating his car at the moment. I would be incredibly surprised if they both make the end. Happy to take 7/1 on both retiring also. Suggest £10 on each bet.

http://www.oddschecker.com/motorsport/formula-one/singapore-grand-prix/how-many-team-haas-cars-will-be-classified-at-the-end-of-the-race

Grid Position Of Lap One Leader: 2nd @ 12/5 with Beewin. It's no secret that the Mercedes have a poor starting car. There's no reason why Ricciardo couldn't be leading into turn one here, 12/5 is simply too high. £20.

http://www.oddschecker.com/motorsport/formula-one/singapore-grand-prix/grid-position-of-lap-1-leader

There are no spreads I see as suitable this weekend.

Not looking great in the jolly hockey sticks, USA lost 3-0.

Ouchio.

Yep not a good start. USA outshot Europe 35-14 but a goalie can steal a game and thats just what Jaroslav Halak was able to do for Europe
