Looks to me as if we are forcing ourselves into a jockey bet, when clearly there is no real alternative to Walsh.
I've forced myself into a bet, because I like to punt
I can't see past Walsh & I despise him. I'm same obv, but can't see any punt in just printing with Walsh!

Agree. Watford very hot and cold but in equal doses. Wouldn't touch Saints with a barge pole at that price.

I watched the Thai LPGA highlights and also the final day as live stream and it didn't really feature any of our Girls. Brilliantly, Lexi Thompson went Birdie, birdie, eagle, birdie and they didn't show any of that but did manage to get a camera on her bogeying the next?
We did get some money back but didn't break even. Pornanong Phatlum struggled badly from the little they showed of her and I don't think I saw any of Nomura.
When the ball pitches on the number one shot in this video you'll see Pornanongs ball on the first cut. That pretty much summed up the luck she had. If you could pick the nut worst spot to be on any given hole she seemed to be in it. That putt she left herself was ridiculously fast and she was lucky to walk away with a par.
In the third round she was hitting her drives 30 yards less than normal, not sure if she was hitting a three wood off the tee but actually had her best score. Her G.I.R. was pretty poor, 11/18 compared to 15/18 in the Bahama's.
Nomura's G.I.R. was incredibly bad, 5/18 in the first round allthough she did only have 102 putts all tournament whish is pretty low. The winner had 104, most others had 120 give or take a few.
Shanshan feng who went off 7/1 favourite totally blew up on the final round. She's a large Lady to be polite and I think having to complete rounds and then go back out a few hours later because of the weather totally killed her chances. To a lesser extent I think Ariya Jutanugarn suffered as well. In contrast, the winner Amy Yang has calves like Sonny Bill Williams and obviously puts a lot of work into fitness.
I do have some picks for this week's event in Singapore and will post on Wednesday. Follow at your own peril.
Yes, please do, you write about Ladies Golf with great insight, knowledge & passion, & Uncle Ralph is a fellow follower, too.
Golf betting is high variance stuff, so no point quitting after one week.
Talking of which, here's a scary thought - The Masters starts 5 weeks on Thursday.

Why ever would you "despise" a jump jockey?
It's an incredibly tough & dangerous profession, & every single cone of them are brave beyond words.
Very often at Cheltenham some poor jockey ends up in a spinal unit & spends the rest of his life in a wheelchair.

We all have jockeys that we like or dislike more than others & Walsh is up there as a jockey who's often up to no good. But the risk they take is definitely seen in their pay packet.

I would say its the complete opposite.
Walsh now only ever needs to get on the triers. He has a group of apprentices and lower level jockeys that will ride the stuff that "needs handicapping", and he just reaps the rewards.
As a person, I can't say he comes across as someone I would take to, but hardly worth a despise in anyones book.

The last six months haven't been great backing Walsh, perhaps I am speaking through my wallet. But even when I haven't backed him, and have no interest in the race, I often become disappointed with his rides. You only have to look a t a ride about 3 weeks ago on Bellshill (I think) where he never ever put the horse in the race, then fell. That is typical Ruby. However, there is far too much talent and guaranteed rides for Walsh at the festival to really try and go against him in the jockey market.

When you say often, do you mean 'When I've backed him, and he doesn't win'?

Not much between them in the predicted points spread.

Can we get a quick £25 each way on vettel for the F1 drivers championship. Early days, but they seem to have one of the two best cars right now.
Plenty of 12/1 fifth first 3 available, though suspect we are hills only.
Think we need to be quick.
