Mate just posted this up on the other forum I post on

Looks like next friday could be a potentially very good or very bad day.

Advise you all have a few bob on Master of Arts today non runner no bet for the County Hurdle. I think you can still get some 20s.

It will be Pipes only representative in the Imperial cup on Saturday(no prices as yet), and the intention is to run again in the County. If it wins on Sat it will be sub 5-1 next friday.

Its not been over the sticks for a couple of years but is in superb nick at home. Enough said methinks. GL

we may have a problem, just heard ted spread is beating zarkander on the gallops, had to wade in with a saver here.

I'm shopping around for good value deals for Cheltenham, a lot of bookies are competing for business.

Corals are doing put a tenner on on line and get a £25 free bet - so I've played that with Rock on Ruby e.way and Riverside Theatre to win in the ryanair.

Paddy Power are doing open a phone account and put £50 on and get a £100 bet. Might play that with Sizing Europe and Big Bucks (playing it safe) next week.

Plus i'm already on Sprinter Sacre at 6/4 in the arkle.

If you haven't got a Ladbrokes acct yet, wait until Tuesday til opening.

They often have cracking opening offers on the first day of the Festival.

One year, bet £100 on day 1 and get a free £100 on the other days.

Is it the weakest Gold Cup for a number of years?

I think it would be unfair to say that it is a weak renewal when you have a young and possibly still-improving horse coming back to defend it's title, and an older former champion showing it's best form for some years.

It would however be fair to say IMO that it is the weakest GC in terms of emerging second-season 'chasers although if Grands Crus were to take it's chance the whole complexion of the race would change.
