Whilst rummaging through some of my old family photos last week I found one from around 1910/20 of a street-market scene somewhere in the UK. It's a lovely wide-screen shot

My grandfather and all of his siblings on my mum's side were market traders or connected with that business to some extent as was his father and although I can't actually recognise anyone in the picture other than a vaigue family likeness I would love to get the photo enlarged and frame it for posterity.

I'm sure that today it's possible to enlarge an old photo and retain far more of the quality than by the old fashioned "blow-up" method but I haven't a clue where to go so I'm hoping that some of you afficionados can point me in the right direction and give me some hints on what might be possible and at what cost.

Sounds fairly simple. How big is it now Ralph, and what condition is it in? What size would you want the finished product to be?

It's post-card size at present and I would like it to be around A4.

It's in good condition.

You should be able to just scan it in, touch it up in a Photoshop type program and reprint it if you have access to such things.  Failing that, it'd be a simple enough job for a local Snappy Snaps (or equivalent) to sort out for you and shouldn't cost much.

Absolutely authentic Geo. That type of wagon is called an 'Open lot', and a very nice example it is too.

Is that Taylor's opposite Hinckley RFC?

Jacks amazing powers of observation started me thinking, so I took some shots of a building that some of you will be familiar with.

How many 'clues will it take? 1000 points if you get it from these.

They're both the same place, and it's not Hinckley station. Another clue soon.
