This was from the super 50 at weekend, bet on the river, call, better shows KQ for trip Q's, caller looks at his hand and says 'your good' and mucks his hand. The dealer mucks the hand and gives the chips to the better, player next to caller then says 'you had an ace flush'. Dealer says the hand is dead, but the tournament director is called over, he says the players either side of the caller say they saw the flush so the pot is given to him. Neither the dealer or the original better saw the hand. I was amazed my this ruling, any comments are welcome.

Seems like a level of some kind.
TD should be sacked if this is true.

Hand has to be tabled. Player could be colluding with the 2 sat next to him. Hands dead. Lol@ruling

So the TD ruled that the pot should be awarded to a player based on what the players next to him said, when the dealer or the TD never actually saw the hand?
If the dealer mucks the hand its absolutely dead surely?

Which TD was it?
Thats a bad ruling surely. If the cards hit the muck then the hands dead. The only way that would stand is if they had a showdown where all hands are tabled. Based on the words of two other players is not ground for the pot to change winner.

We're almost certainly not in possession of the full facts here, so lets not jump to conclusions. Well, any more conclusions!

surely it is the players responsibility to keep, muck or expose their hand. As soon as those cards cross the line they belong to the dealer. If the cards are face down they are mucked and should be treated as such therefore not being turned over and ultimately loosing the hand for not declaring the cards. If they were face up they are in fact still live and its up to the dealer to declare the winning hand. So in simple terms face down you are declaring you are releasing your hand and allowing the other player to take the pot.

I can only imagine that the TD was unaware of the full facts and thought the hand was tabled and misread.

no TD at DTD would rule that, based on the info we've been given. there's got to be more to this...
