I forgot to add, if you stay elsewhere, they have excellent bus services, and I know balla poker players will enjoy bus rides. They are building a tram system, too, due to open in 2027.

Escalators have just been added so you don't need to walk up the 500 steps from the railway station to the hotel. There are also some budget hotels nearby and there are a few more planned. The buses run 24 hours for anyone staying away from the centre.

I honestly cannot imagine anyone would be allowed in the place wearing hoodies & the like & I do mean that - it's well posh. To give you a flavour of how posh, they have afternoon tea in the Lounge every day, & a resident harpist serenades you. Which is nice, but hardly what Mr Cody, Mr Dempsey, Trigg  & Co are going to relish.....

wtf am proper old now a days Tikay i relish nothing more than spending my afternoons drinking tea in grander and grander tea rooms in preparation for my evenings spent drinking scoth in piano bars....

I wouldn't normally try so hard, but didn't have another opportunity I could wait for. I wasn't ready to surrender what I WANTED SO MUCH, that easily, I couldn't guarantee a call with me staying stoic and relying on a flinch "top pair" calling reflex.

Perhaps it was deliberate.

Is Aspers still closing down? Might be the reason.

Emailed them. They're cancelling Swansea and replacing it with another location to be announced. Still clashes with gukpt blackpool though

You know as well as anyone how hard it is to run an event that doesn't clash with something.

Bit silly for the two biggest tours to go up against each other though

This is very true.

However, I don't think it is beyond the bounds of reasonable imagination that they would do it deliberately, either. The poker world is predatory by nature, & if those 2 clashed, there would only be one winner.

PS - And I am not suggesting it would be improper if they did.

Only from the perspective of the players, Geo.

Supermarkets do it all the time with predatory pricing & offers, they want to crush the opposition, steal their market, & their customers/Clients. This would be no different.
