Considered and rational= Pep

Maverick= Simone

Realistic = Klopp

I genuinely think we are still a big draw, but if we don't offer the opportunity of an open cheque book, we may well end up with David O'Leary!

As a Liverpool fan, I've been envious at how your club has been run and what a good manager (even with his occasional myopia) you have had for such a long time. Especially,during the period of G&H's ownership of Liverpool.

Henry was my favourite non-Liverpool player, and it was impossible not to be impressed by him when he was at full throttle (even when it was tearing Carragher a new arse). Wenger has always wanted his teams to play good football.

But recently, it's been a bit bemusing. You have a nice stadium, a good back balance, a manager who obviously is one of the best out there, and a midfield that could grace three decent PL teams. Then there was that ridiculous bid for Suarez, when I'm sure a proper bid of about £60m would have got him and who knows what else.

Yet you've struggled to win trophies. You've struggled to get a world class striker, a signing that would make a real difference. Your defence is as fragile as Liverpool's and united's,  and qualifying for the CL every season is an achievement that should be applauded, but it's become the goal rather than a stepping stone to that elusive trophy. As an outsider, it's very strange, and I can imagine that as a fan it's frustrating and confusing.

Without a world class striker I can't see you challenging for the title (not whilst Chelsea and City have such spending power), so what is the plan at Arsenal? How much longer is Wenger going to be there for, and is consistent CL qualification enough?  Of course, other clubs would love that position, but Arsenal?

^^^

I guess the FA cup doesn't count as a trophy when we win it.

I personally think arsenal have done well for the size of their club. They've never really been as big as United or Liverpool and even more recently Chelsea and Man U. Wengers remit is clearly top 4 and not the premiership which he has delivered every year

OK, I did mean the CL trophy in that sentence.  But anyway, are the fans happy with CL qualification and the occasional FA or League Cup?

The short answer is no of course but some of us can still find positives.

The overall quality and depth of the squad is far better than in the lean years despite some obvious lack of cover in defence, and I can only see this trend continuing.

It's worth remembering that manure and their bottomless pit of borrowed money were equally desperate for quality CD's in the transfer-window and also didn't manage to secure any.

The deadwood has now been jettisoned from our squad and AW is stubborn and won't lower his standards when it comes to recruitment as his is a long-term view unlike most fans who want instant success regardless of the sacrifice, a la Leeds Utd.

It all depends on whether you are a fan of football or a fan of accountancy. Sure, they are well run and profitable but why should the fans care about that?

To get any further up from where they are in the Premier League requires a loony bins owner who is prepared to waste massive amounts of cash.

On the other hand I think all this "nice stable club, don't put it at risk" is a bit over rated. We've been hearing "clubs on verge of disappearing" for ages now but they never do- as soon as the first numpty runs out of money and sells the club there seems to be a queue of other numpties waiting to come in and throw their money away.

I just think that you're one or two signings away from a side that really could challenge for the title and the CL, even against the spending might of chelsea and City.  Last season, a Suarez in the Arsenal side would have made a huge difference. I understand that Wenger has his principles, but if he was slightly more pragmatic and maybe even risked things a bit - you'd have a more balanced side than you do now. You have a manager who knows how to get a side playing.  Imagine Wenger at Chelsea or City...

Pretty much this.

Never claimed he cant coach, but he cant seem to manage, and is stubborn as a mule. I could really understand it if it were his money, but unless he is paid on bottom line profit, there is simply no need for his cowardice in the transfer market.

We're always one or two signings away, have been for years.  Before that we were building a team for the future.

Why Arsenal didn't sign Remy for £10 million is absolutely beyond me.

The geezer is an Arsenal fan, he was absolutely desperate to join, but Wenger didn't want him.

Probably too many fans thought he was a good buy.

Probably for the same reasons that Rodgers had.
