Hazard, Ozil, Van Persie, Aguero are all players that can be mentioned in the same vein as the players you mention Keith (excluding Messi and Ronaldo). Cavani isn't even near to the same league as the above. Familiarity breeds contempt, don't kid yourself, there are some unbelievably talented players in the premier league.
A lot of it is to do with history and location though, as well as cash. If you were a world class South American would you rather live in Madrid or Manchester?
Regardless of who plays where, the Prem is still the best spectacle IMO. I watched the Barca game after the Arsenal game on Sunday and was bored out of my skull.

Because we don't pay the insane wages that the top end players get on the continent.
Man City do a pretty deece job paying top dollar.
Be surprised if more than 5 or 6 in the world get paid more than Yaya Toure.
http://www.caughtoffside.com/2012/09/05/top-ten-highest-paid-football-players-on-planet-earth/
According to this magazine there were 3 as of last September
1. Eto 'o - €20m
2. Ibrahimovic €14.5m
3. Rooney €13.8m
4. Toure €13m
You missed out Torres!
Weird, I've never heard of the 9th highest paid player or the team he plays for!
Dario Conca (Guangzhou Evergrande) €10.6m
Without googling, I am guessing that is the Chinese team Drogba was going to join?
Never mentioned Torres because he wasn't paid more than Toure.
Same as you, I had never heard of him either and it is a Chinese club he plays for.

Hopefully this indicates a change of direction and new momentum for Arsenal. Need to move back towards being a club that recruits the finest in Europe, not a feeder club for Barcalona.

Arsenal still short of numbers though? Going to be tough if they get a spate of injuries.

We already have a spate of injuries, Ox, Arteta, Pod, Verminator and Diaby.
Verm close to full fitness, Diaby who knows, the first three out for 2/3 months.
I reckon we'll get a new striker in January now, a decent one too hungry to feed on Ozil's assists.

Are there any good youngsters knocking around that can fill a role on the bench until these guys return?

If Arsenal Fans don't sing ''Carzola to the left of me, Ozil to the right, here I am, stuck in the middle Giroud'' I'll be very disappointed...

If Arsenal do well this season, a year from now people could be saying that Flamini was one of the key signings of this transfer window.

Zelalem is an extremely promising midfielder who impressed averyone in pre-season but is only 16, Akpom is a very promising striker too. They are both currently in the first team squad.
Agree with the squid about Flamini, 29, an excellent DM and at the peak of his powers who gives added steel and power where it has been lacking. A £15M midfielder acquired for free.

Ozil may be the best player to join the Premier League this year, but the fact remains the best players in the world play for Madrid, Barca, Bayern, PSG or Monaco.
There's a lot of very very good players at Citeh, Utd, Chelsea, Lolerpool, Spurs and Arsenal
But Messi, Ronaldo, Falcao, Cavani, Iniesta, Xavi, Ibrhimovich, Ribery etc etc etc don't
And when we finally produce a player to match these superstars. Bale, he goes off to join Madrid just as he's reaching the prime of his career.
Anyone suggest why this is?
I certainly can't see imagine an English club being the dominant force in Europe for the foreseeable future. (Chelsea fluked the CL, didn't they?)
Pretty sad really
After Messi & Ronaldo it's much of a muchness though?
Ball playing midfielders will rarely come here (Alonso & Fabregas were not on the world stage when they did). Centre halves are still probably best in Italy.
Forwards? Van Persie. Suarez. Until recently Tevez. Aguero would be if he could stay fit. I wouldn't put Cavani Ibra Ribery above some of those players.

Ozil just shown a mural of the last Arsenal Premier League winning squad celebrating the win.
"Do you remember this?"
"Yes, even though I was a young child when it happened."
Then asked who was his favourite player from this squad was.
He disappointed me greatly by not answering Ray Parlour.

Bugger Theo's a late withdrawal from today's squad due to illness.
Had him as the secret-weapon captain of my FF team too
A Giroud hat-trick would be okay though.

Be interesting to see the 18 year old German lad who replaces him. Always exciting to see these young kids debut.
