now that's a bit uncalled for

it was a difficult hand and in fact it was played in line with majority thinking in he replies, not that it necessarily counts for much!

If it's any consolation, I think there are a lot of players who would have got tied up in this hand.

Sorry TE I thought the smiley faces would tell you it was meant with humour! Oh well. Any way I did say on the first stage that I think it should have been played much more aggressively from the flop.

Don't forget that you only have bottom set. You can be beaten by a higher set or a two pair holding, eg KJ, if the board pairs.

Unlikely snoop only 88 I think. All other pp would be badly played if they have bigger set and J only came on the river so KJ not a factor.

@ TE; the idea of playing aggressive on the flop is to take the pot on the flop imo. This means that you don't give teh flush draw the odds to hit by check raising the maximum on the flop. If after your check no one puts a bet in and the scare card lands on the turn, be prepared to give up now if strength is shown or limp to the river to fill up again ffolding to any strength.

I see your point Highstack but the type of players and their stacks mean that even a full pot bet does not push them off. This is why I advocate a check adding money to the pot only builds it for the draws.

Fair point Jezza and Splash was only the other day highlighting the point of not betting draws because stations will call and he might miss. The difference here as I see it, is that with this set I am in front and this may be the only way of getting all their stack - its a made hand. If players want to call and outdraw me with the incorrect odds or reason for doing so, then good luck to them. I realise that odds mean nothing when you are out, but this so often is just a game of percentages.


(Sure in this instance he would have lost anyway, unless it was online because a different random card may have been generated depending on the action - just illustrating the point).
