if he's sitting in a pub and tells a pal he has a poker related number plate and wants to sell it, where could he sell something so specialised and his mate says try a poker forum, that would sound like a sensible idea to me, the perfect place for his target market, a lot of poker players, some with enough disposable income to be able to afford it, if they can then great if they can't no big deal but he gets the third degree, probably goes back to his mate and says what the hell was that about, i went on there and they chased me off because i hadnt contributed to the community enough, i just want to sell a poker number plate not discuss online poker all day
Thanks for these sentiments ohdear, i think you have pretty much nailed it.

Whilst I'm not the most well known on the forum, I'm 99% certain I know this person, and have had this mentioned to me at the tables. I don't know the guy well at all, but from what i do know he is reputable, and mentioned the charitable side at the table a few weeks ago. He doesn't know I am a blonde member, and has no way of knowing who i am currently, but i will be messaging him after this post. I appreciate the nature of the thread is rough for both sides, but hopefully I can give some credibility to the post.

It was on a Smart car
Sir, this is (probably) a player from our local card room, if you could assist with the shitstorm.

It may have been me that used the word, I'm not sure, but perhaps "credibility" is not the correct word.
The point is, 50 or 100 newbies have signed up to blonde down the years for no other purpose other than to to flog personalised, or "cherished" car number plates. I very much doubt if a single sale has ensued. The number plate market is very open & transparent, & anyone can buy them from source, & poker players are sharp enough to know that. Most of the plates offered are pretty naff, too. Why would anyone want a plate that reads "Hold Em"?
"Poker", "Raise" etc have some attraction to some, but it's thin really.
I think the blondes, as a collective, rather tire of same old same old, & as a result, they have a little sport. I don't like to see it, it makes me cringe to be honest, but you can understand where they are coming from.
Even one long-term blonde who over-did the selling number plates malarky got chased away after it kicked off on here. A shame, as he is a good friend of mine, & remains so, but it's a sensitive area, when people come here for no other reason than to flog their wares, with little prospect of ever contributing anything to the Community.
As welcoming as I want to be to Mr Synetos, I did try very hard to explain to him how the land lies.
Camel's comments on this thread have nothing whatsoever to do with this particular plate, or thread, he just has a long-term loathing of the folks who buy them, & has stated it often, over many years. Anyone who tries to flog a plate, be it a newbie or veteran blonde, will get exactly the same treatment from him.
PS - I was offered "T1KAY", but I was scared that Camel would a shout at me.

Sir???
is you saying that 'cos I is old?
anyway, I'm more than happy to go with your read on the OP being genuine and although the idea of marketing a vanity plate on Blonde isn't popular, anything that raises funds for Butterwick Hospice is to be seen as a good thing.
Maybe the attack dogs could back off a little?

And i appreciated your time to do so Tikay, but as explained before - after receiving scathing attacks and personal abuse from the off, I am
unlikely to want to further post specifics about who i am - After all the people who have been abusive towards me all hide under usernames
on a forum too - I dare say that the Majority would not say the same to my face if i was out on the street collecting for a hospice.

Fwiw T1KAY would actually be pretty cool because it would look correct.
HO11DEM doesn't look correct because unless you hadn't noticed there's only 1 'L' in the word you're trying to represent.
FL11SHY is also pretty shite because you have to put a screw in it to try to make 11 look like a 'U'.
Plates where you have to alter the shape of letters or numbers in a desperate attempt to spell a word are pathetic.
The one's where they don't need any alteration are fine imo.
I quite fancied getting RU55ELL for this reason. Unfortunately it cost nearly as much as my house so I had to leave it.

Agreed, please can you close this post, as i do not want to spend any more time in trying to justify my intentions
to be ridiculed.
To those of you who contributed positively, then I would like to express my sincere gratitude, especially to
the 2 guys who know me from our local cardroom. Baptism of fire is the only way i can describe my initiation
onto this forum, but i do understand all points put forward by sceptics as well as the supporters.
I also appreciate your contribution as admin Tikay and hope your backside recovers from any damage
caused by that somewhat uncomfortable looking fence i put you on.

Common knowledge isnt something I have as a new member.
Stands to reason to assume that though if you think about it.
