pre is a fold too obv

what's the worst hand you're opening bob in this spot?

felt pretty embarrassed with this hand after I posted it tbh, but I think it's good to admit to spew, otherwise we'll never learn eh.

How was he adjusting or more likely reacting to your spew. Remember you're still vv early in the comp. you most likely weren't pounding him, I also assume you were only playing one table, Amirite? Online is vvv hard to play 1table, live you can stare at the dealers tits, talk to someone about football etc and whilst you can ofc browse the Internet it's still extremely hard to play 1 table and not level yourself or get tied to a hand which I assume happened here.

I would open Q10s+ j9s+ k9s+ 22+  j10o+ 89s some other suited connectors and then a10+.

Yeh this was pretty early on in my grind so didn't have many tournies open, I normally play 6-8 tables otherwise I find it hard to reli focus. Ty for the advice
A good starting point in the never-ending journey of cutting spew out of your game is to decide NEVER to make this type of play unless you have at least some equity.

Seriously write this down on a post-it note and stick it on the front of your computer.

You can be in a terrific spot to bluff, but still turn it down because you have no equity when called. When attempting thesee types of plays, look for a) FOLD EQUITY, b) EQUITY WHEN CALLED. A decent bit of a) and a lil bit of b) and you're good to go.

You don't need to win every spot

Honeybadger and lildave crush these PHAs. It's really funny rereading this whole thread the next day, swear with poker you look back and just think lol WTF was I doing. stuff at the time can seem logical/standard when it reli isn't eh.  But yeh, not an excuse but this is a relative one off, for the most part I have at least some equity ha, I'll save the zero equity stuff for Mr Black!

haha you little spew monkeying heros you guys Cheesy

Seriously dont worry yourself too much, we all do it, quite a bit, you feel that boiling up inside you and you're well aware what you're about to do is terrible but you can't stop yourself. Eventually, with some experience you can hold back 25%, then 50% then 75%, then maybe 95-97%% of these impulses and you'll do just fine, just one of those things Smiley

To quote Geeforce "Some hands just aren't meant to be" if you win 20% of the pots you enter in your life you'll likely die very rich.

In the vein of a tree falling in a wood, does it matter if he is folding like all the time? Plus we have a king ball, and the joys of shouting kingball for the boys if we get there. I like it tbh
