Radiohead post OK Computer.  I've tried, but just don't like the more obscure/abstract sound of their albums from Kid A onwards.  That's not to say I don't like that genre in general (I quite like Sigur Rós and Fleet Foxes for example), I just don't like Radiohead's stuff.

Radiohead is a good call.

A band I'm meant to like is the Manic Street Preachers, I say meant to like because I loved their first three and a half albums, and went to see them live countless times in their early years. But since then I can't even get remotely interested in their stuff. Do they count?

Radiohead the abs nap, well played that man. I mean wtf is that all about?

Another band who failed to keep me in front of the main stage at Leeds.

They played a 'secret gig' at Glastonbury last year. Got a huge crowd and then fucked everyone off by only playing the new, inaccessible on first hearing, album.

With all the great acts, I have usually found something I like about their music and understand the appeal to the masses, so i was have trouble coming up with something. Then Tighty posted this:

Status Quo

Boring one chord repetitive crap for 35 years

Fuck off.

summed it up perfectly

60 chart hits, 22 top 10s, millions of records sold

revered by many

I thought that, re-reading the Op, wasn't specifically about the universally considered great acts anyway. so there.

Just bands that many people like that you find unfathomable
