I'm out on the 20 th stayin at nugget this time ,never stayed downtown yet

Not a bad hotel, best downtown by miles.

But still, I'd rather have a bit of luxury thanks!

I stayed there for 4 days last year in the Gold Club rooms which are basically the same as the new (2009) Rush Tower and they're great (for downtown). Obviously location is an issue, but I was playing a couple comps down there so it was a lot easier to stay rather than commute each day for me.

The first couple years I went out there I just plotted up anywhere from Ballys to IP and never really cared. Now though I always make a point of having a nice room as I generally spend a bit more time chilling out in it than I used to.  #oldbeforemytime

The next interview like this I did, about 2 years later.. I was asked for another tip for the top.

I picked JP Kelly when he was just a boy playing £20 tournies at Luton.

I might be a crap player. But I'm a good judge Smiley

jp was miles ahead of his time. Used to love playing with him. As a newbie at the time, knocking him out a comp, felt better than winning it. Really nice guy too, hasn't changed a bit, despite his success.

Where do you live now Keith? Never yearn to play a comp at Luton for old times sake? Dougie was there tonight, was even still awake when I left at 10.30 Smiley

I live in the middle of the countryside on the North Yorkshire/Durham border.. With two horses in the field as my only neighbours (see what I did there?)

Once in a blue moon I fancy playing a tournament at Luton, then I open the window and hear.... complete silence.

No traffic jams, no pollution, no crime, no door to door salesmen, no litter and absolutely no hassles.

Miss Dougsie a bit thought. Great bloke. Might pop down for a few comps at the end of the summer Smiley

I have done a couple of times when they had big festivals but I'm put off going regularly because the tables are self dealt. (is this still the case?)

He doesn't play much poker these days. He has accepted the young kids are too good for him I think.

He and his wife have done alot of traveling, seeing the world.. they've "done" Europe, Australia, South America and Asia for like 3 month trips.

Hope to see him at the WSOP. Doubt he'll play anything bar the seniors though. But he stills kills the sats and the hi/lo stud games.

Staying at the Cosmopolitan. Stayed there last year and was mightily impressed. The rooms are fantastic and th pool one the best In Vegas imo. The clincher is the buffet. Makes Wynn and Bellagio buffets look second rate!

Restaurant: Big fan of Prime at the Bellagio. Also like Fix for a quick snack. The Japanese restaurant at Ceasers is great too. Never miss at least one meal there each trip.

Non poker: A quick flight to the West Coast to catch a baseball game. Seen San Fran, Oakland and the Dodgers. Going to try and get to a Padres games this year. If not, will go and see a minor league Vegas game.

I had my eye on Cosmo but ended up on Vdara just on price deal, will definitely spend some time on the property this time though.  I don't like eating buffets for lunch/dinner but will give the Wicked Spoon brekkie a bash.

also a fan of Prime, have eaten at STACK a few times, (like Fix, but @ Mirage) and I substitute Mesa Grill (or NN9) for the Japanese @ Caesars - otherwise pretty similar.

Last time I went to Cashman Field, was a good time, but the baseball was poor.  Would be easily persuaded to take in a Dodgers game.
