That kid you backed was on my table on day 1, the whole table was having great fun chatting away etc sharing jokes. He sat there wearing a cap with a hoody over the top of it, over sized sunglasses and headphones over the top of his hood. He was the only player at the table wearing a sponsors logo, they must be delighted with the selection

They also got press/news on his performance. I'm not too sure his sponsor will be hating life that he didn't chat to the other 8 people at the table. Its hardly like a major star presenting himself poorly.

How do you know it was a sponsor? He could just be wearing a badge for a friend, bit like I do for Karl Smiley

What's wrong with not engaging in table banter?

Sunglasses is the only thing there that tilts me.
Yeah he could have done far worse by wearing a patch of a firm that could have ripped everyone off and telling everyone "it will be all fine, and people don't know the full facts yet". That might be worse Smiley

Jake fell asleep an hour before Love started and couldn't be roused.

I was left with 2 spare tickets.

I phoned and texted Trigg to see if fancied going but he wasn't answering.

So I scuttled down the Mirage theatre and did my best Stan Flashman impression.

"Anyone need tickets for tonight? Got two spare, anyone want cheap tickets?".

The septic tanks looked at me as though I was mad.

Finally went up to two women in the queue for tickets, a mother and daughter, They actually wanted tickets for the late show, but the daughter sniffed a bargain.

"Two tickets, face value $114 each, you can have them both for $180"

"I haven't got much cash, I was hoping to pay withcredit card"

The mother then interjected...

"What if they are forgeries? I mean this is highly irregular"

So I was forced to tell Judy and her mother the full story. Bought the tickets for my gf and little boy but he wasn't fully on US time yet and was fast asleep.

The mother was still dubious so I had to show pictures of Jake on my phone!

Meanwhile Judty was rooting around in her bag for any stray dollars, desperate that the bargain didn't slip away.

Ended up offering $153, which I took as I was worried someone might call security to take out this fat bloke trying to scalp tickets in a very surreptitious manner.

It actually worked out ok. They were really nice and bought me a pack of honey roasted peanuts.

The show was awesome as usual.

My favourite part is Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds:

This doesn't really do it justice, but at least gives a flavour of the girls amazing athleticism.

Gutted Jake didn't get to see it, he would have been totally blown away I'm sure. no more performances before he goes him unfortunately. Might squeeze in a trip to the Elvis CdS show, although reports I've heard are that it's not in the same league as Love. The fact it's closing soon seem to reinforce that.

Anyways, the real fun starts today. Time for poker.

Let's go.

Finished the day with 17400.

And a very controversial and bad ruling which cost me about a quater of my stack.

Will type the hand up if I have time in the morning.

Very frustrating day, didn't play great tbh. Should have 40k plus prolly.

Start again at 1pm.

Ok, here is the hand in question.

Blinds 400-800/100

There is a dead small blind.

UTG I make it 1800 to play with KK.

Everyone folds to the button who is chip leader but a bit of space cadet.

He throws 5 x 500 chips in without saying a word. (He also admitted not saying a word, normally in a spot like this they claim they said "call").

I am nearly 100% sure he didn't see my raise.

BB passes and I annoubce "reraise" and attemot to put a decent size raise in.

Button causes a huge commotion.. "I only wanted to call!"

Ruling saught.

As he put in 2500, which was more than half my initial raise, he should have been forced to complete the raise to 2800.

I kept quiet while the decision was being made because I was 100% certain that was what the ruling would be and didn't want to give away the strength of my hand by forcing him to come to the correct decision.

But no, the floor chose to let him take the chips back and make it a call.

The flop came AAx.

I led out for 3200 or something and he called. It went c/c on the turn and then he made a huge bet on the river and I folded.

He might well have bluffed me on the river, but that is not the point really. He obv didn't have a premium ace, because he argued so strongly against his bet being counted as a raise. So he would probably have folded for my 4 bet.

It isone of the most basic and common sense rules in no limit holdem and the WSOP floorman just totally fcked up.

Really really annoying.

Amazing how quick the mood in Vegas can change. From being super positive and on top of the world, I am now snappy and grumpy.

All because of one incompetent floorman at a poker tournament.

This thread needs some laughs
