sigh sigh!

Thought parker was good this tournement put the effort in its mad to see so many players walking

Carroll was good but he comes on late and then wont close down up front same for henderson! If your a proffessional player how can you not run for 10-20 mins?

Roy bottled the big decisions here - should have taken off/not played Rooney, was not with it at all and should have got more support in midfield letting Gerrard attack more
And Pirlo obviously good but why not man mark him
Doesn't matter because there is no way we would have got pass the Germans

Our best possession stat in the tournament was 48% against Ukraine. You're not likely to keep winning like that against good teams.

Unless you're Chelsea.

Anyway, that's all done with. Let's get the Terry court case done now

I think Roy may have been a bit one-eyed regarding Rooney but overall he surely comes out of this with a lot of credit. Speaks well and honestly too.

Bottom line, is you can't make a silk purse etc.

We don't have a single player in our front 6 that would get into any of the semi final teams or even the underperforming French, Dutch teams.

Calling anyone a disgrace is just stupid. Quarter finals was actually the potential of this and probably any England team.

Technically we just have never been good enough

Hodgson would never have withdrew rooney post or pre match because of the stick he'd get if we went out. Any other country he would have been hauled off (Italy took de rossi off for example) i just cant see how people continue to call him our best play and/or world class.

TBF we're not exactly brimming with alternatives. Think he made a mistake not subbing Young instead of Milner

Englands future does not look bright at all

No replacements for old midfielders and no strike force

Such joke results orientated analysis.

I have no criticism of Hodgson, he did a good job.

Is anyone suggesting Rooney isn't our best attacking player ? The fact he was terrible isn't the manager's fault, he didn't play him because he was frightened of the backlash, he played him due to the fact none of the rest of our strikers are even close to his level of ability.

Ashley Young was by miles our biggest disappointment of the tournament, thought he was poor in every game.

I can't believe I'm thinking it nevermind admitting it but think Terry was our best player.

So tilting to here "justice was done" about 5 times after we lost on pens for the 4th time in 8 tournaments, JUSTICE ? GREASE THE BBC!

As much as I hate to say it, Terry was huge tonight.

Our performance in extra time was embarassing - it was like watching a non-league team play Man Utd in the FA Cup.
