Is this some kind of hilarious practical joke?

Myabe betting dark. There must be a spot where this could be useful. I doubt checking dark is ever a good thing.

Betting dark can literally never be an optimal move putting in more money than your opponent with less information. Unless someone could suggest an example where it might be a good idea??

Really old man opens to £100 pre at £5/10 you peel 52dd from the bb and bet £350 dark. Man has a heart attack and you win the pot by default after you call a clock on him and it runs out at some point during his ambulance ride.

Yeah I don't think I really thought that post through being as I can't think of any examples. It was late and I was feeling chirpy. I think I was just thinking along the lines of betting dark>checking dark if you had to vote for one.

Maybe theres a guy who's like a 40 year old cockney thug looking type with too much ego playing for the first time and you have aces and you announce your dark flop bet which makes him want to call more maybe even call the bet dark himself, just to smite your cocky antics. We're betting most flops for value anyway with aces. Looks like I found an example, whether its right or wrong or too far fetched to even bother mentioning.

I wouldn't dark-anything anyway. I'm scared of the dark.

You need to balance your checking dark range, looks like you call a bag of spanners pre and don't know what to do next.

 Wink

I agree, it looks weak, and if you start checking dark with monsters you give free cards allowing someone to catch a bigger hand.

I can,t recall seeing a player win a pot after checking dark. I,m sure I will have done so but cannot recall so on balance it's not a profitable tactic IMO.
