Getting sick of the biased coverage.

The Chinese divers who won gold were incred.

Headline? "Tom Daley comes 4th".

Just trying to get used to your humour, here...that's a joke, right?

Most people don't know who the "other bloke" is, let alone who the Chinese divers are.

The press have to appeal to a public who can't point to Glasgow on a map of the UK, who consider the XFactor good entertainment and who voted for The Only Way Is Essex to win a BAFTA.

Not at all.

I think the Olympics should be a celebration of excellnce in sport.

By all means cheer on the Brits while they've got a chance of winning, but give the winners the plaudits, not the also rans.

We're 1-0 up against the Argies in the men's hockey by the way. Half an hour to go...

"Where were the Germans?... and frankly, who cares!?"

Brilliant commentary from Barry Davies when the British team won gold in the hockey in Seoul.

So you don't think it OTT to use an opening sequence of the '66 World Cup to begin an evening of swimming as opposed to reruns of say Adlingtons medal winning performances from the last Olympics?

Ye Shiwen's world record Olympic swim 'disturbing', says top US coach http://gu.com/p/39cjc/tw

Ye winner of the 400 IM at 16yo, beat PB by 5 seconds, new WR

Swam the last leg, 100m freestlye in 28,93

Lochte in the mens equivalent did it in 29.05

Unprecedented, and widely assumed to be hooky.

I don't why Britain and Ireland put up with such dreary dirges as National Anthems. Some countries have got cracking anthems. The French one is fantastic, closely followed by Germany, while Russia, Italy, US, South Africa and China (and Europe) all have ones that are a pleasure to hear.

Regime change is always good to update a national anthem.

Got to agree here.,
Go more mental than ever when we do something but I watched swimming the other day and they were saying how well we'd done to come 7th when somebody had smashed the field.

I want completely biased coverage

I want commentators who go nuts when our competitiors achieve medals

Its our home Olympics, a bit of jingoism is not only to be expected but encouraged

As long as its not negative xenophobia, and we celebrate amazing achievements from whichever nation too, fine

I don't get it.

Why should I cheer on someone purely because they happen to have been born in the same Godforsaken island I was?

They aren't representing me. They are representing themselves.

There are members of the British squad I badly want to win - Farah, Greene, Pendleton and Ennis. not because they are British but because they are incredible athletes and seem like really top people.

There are several members I really hope crash and burn: Cavendish has already been chinned, I'm hoping for the same for Idowu, Chambers and Murray.

It was 46 years ago today since the previous biggest sporting event to be held in this city, but that event has now been surpassed - I don't see a problem spending 20 seconds highlighting that.

Personally, I think "OTT" is not the way to describe it

Although today is the 40th anniversary of that achievement, its the wrong choice for Olympics coverage for the reason you state. Its not an achievement by a British team, involving all the British nations

Just some editor not thinking, rather than a slight to others, I would imagine.

Phelps had shown gradual improvement since he was a kid though - this girl has taken a huge chunk off her fastest time in a year.

Understood. Chambers I think I agree with, anyone else I'll cheer them on

I totally agree that the Olympics is about celebration of great sport from whichever nation.

Pushing it a bit not to expect our media to be overly-patriotic though
