5pm is better as like others have said you can get shit done in the day and not get too much grief from family and friends for not being able to do stuff on the Saturday. Too overlapping flights is not a bad shout but would need thought wrong logistics and ring fencing tables for table moves etc

The later the better for me.
Reason is because it gives me more time to do other stuff during the day before I set off to play.
I prefer the 2pm start for this reason. Given that I have a lie in on Saturdays and that it takes me an hour or so to travel down I find the 5pm start just leaves me with a few hours to waste with not much time to do anything substantial. I'd rather just get up and head straight to dtd. I vaguely recall it used to start at 7pm? If that was an option here I'd be voting for that. 7pm leaves enough time to actually do something with the Saturday.

Some people want to get stuff done during the day, others don't want to spend all night playing poker. Two flights may be an option - it's not really a problem from logistics as it's essentially just a day 1b and 1c happening on the same day.

defo 2pm start, but run well in 5pm starts, but seriously 2pm is good if u play Saturday and bag up, for a snooze in on Sunday, but managing a footy team on a sunday i have to arise early and live local so no real problem but would prefer 2pm start.

If I was travelling a decent distance or staying over somewhere to play I'd definitely prefer the 2pm start.
This is because I'd have the dog in kennels and pretty much have arranged the whole weekend around poker.
As I'm local to DTD it changes for me and I like to squeeze in dog walking duties etc. in before I head off to play.

I think that's likely to be a common split
If you are local, 5pm is likely to suit. You've got time to do stuff, maybe take in Saturday afternoon sport too and still be at DTD way before a 7pm late entry cut off
As someone travelling, booking a hotel etc, 2pm is likely to suit
For my part, not that it matters, when I am updating a 2pm start is much better as I don't have all day waiting around to work..in this sense I'm more like a travelling player

nothing worse than waiting all day for the £150.00 and a 2pm start gives u the chance to play a bit of cash once you go Busto

Would there be any chance of a 6 or 7pm Friday start, so us workaholics have a choice of day 1s?
I recognise problem of staff shifts then with more dealers working late into sat morning and then possibly back in for 2 or 5pm.
Just asking really whether it's a) feasible and b) favourable

2pm is better for me. However I don't mind 5pm starts as finishing at 2am isn't the end of the world. Think herbie has the right sentiment; do what is most financially beneficial for the club.

A 2pm start is far better, I miss the 2pm starts... and while we are there surely we can have a torn or two with a re-entry in the month.

Sorry, yes, to address the question, 2pm is preferable but only preferable. 5pm hasn't stopped me from coming to DTD where I would have gone at 2

2pm for me, both as an updater and a player.
The main reason I would prefer 2pm is if (unlikely) I made Day 2, I'd be pretty pissed having to come back in 9-10hrs time to play Day 2 as the 5pm starts generally dont finish until 3am!
