Is there a deadline for the Cup? Might not get a chance to answer until Monday.

Monday is fine mate.

blonde Football Quiz Association Cup First Round
sharplea v. bryceland

1. Who was the Barcelona manager throughout 2004?

sharplea 1 - 1 bryceland

2. Who is the oldest player in West Ham United's first team squad?

sharplea 2 - 2 bryceland

3. Name 6 of Liverpool's starting 11 for their 2001 UEFA Cup Final match against Alaves?

sharplea 3 - 3 bryceland

4. Who is the captain of the German national side?

sharplea 4 - 4 bryceland

5. Name 7 players in the Fulham first team squad with a unique nationality? (only player of that nationality)

sharplea 5 - 5 bryceland

Tie-Break: How many goals were scored in last season's Champions League proper?

sharplea 5(TB) - 5 bryceland

So unfortunate for bryceland as he pushed the current league champion all the way before losing on a tie-break, sharplea progresses.

blonde Football Quiz Association Cup First Round
Toasty92 v. sweet potata!

1. Who was the Barcelona manager throughout 2004?

Toasty92 1 - 1 sweet potata!

2. Who is the oldest player in West Ham United's first team squad?

Toasty92 2 - 2 sweet potata!

3. Name 6 of Liverpool's starting 11 for their 2001 UEFA Cup Final match against Alaves?

Toasty92 3 - 3 sweet potata!

4. Who is the captain of the German national side?

Toasty92 4 - 3 sweet potata!

5. Name 7 players in the Fulham first team squad with a unique nationality? (only player of that nationality)

Toasty92 5 - 3 sweet potata!

A great clash where the two players went toe-to-toe for the first part but in the end Toasty92 did enough to see off sweet potata! and in the process scored an impressive 5 out of 5.

Sigh, GG

Immaterial I know but I'm sure I got that last Q right!

D'oh, my bad just realised now I read the Q wrong! what a plank I am!

superwomble must have sent out a second string side for this cup match as ruud cruised to a 4-1 victory to put his name firmly in the hat for the 2nd round.

blonde Football Quiz Association Cup First Round Draw
TightEnd v. Tal

1. Who was the Barcelona manager throughout 2004?

TightEnd 1 - 1 Tal

2. Who is the oldest player in West Ham United's first team squad?

TightEnd 2 - 2 Tal

3. Name 6 of Liverpool's starting 11 for their 2001 UEFA Cup Final match against Alaves?

TightEnd 3 - 3 Tal

4. Who is the captain of the German national side?

TightEnd 4 - 4 Tal

5. Name 7 players in the Fulham first team squad with a unique nationality? (only player of that nationality)

TightEnd 5 - 4 Tal

The current League Cup Champion TightEnd was pushed all the way by fellow Premier Leaguer Tal, and only a school boy-ish error in the last question prevented this tie going to the breaker.

"Look Shreeves, I don't care if the opposition score our winner with an own goal off the ball boy's arse, the fact is we won 5-4 and its not my fault the opponents cocked it up. I felt the lads performed well, stuck to their task despite the attempts by the hard men in the other team to distract them with puzzles from the Queens Indian at corners and we go forward to the next round with confidence. After all, we're only play a kipper.

Look out League Cup, we intend to defend it, particularly while Horseplayer City is injured"
