Mental hand on the mentallis'st table, currently being run (over) by Alan Armitage.

Flop of 10s

Alan bets out 3.5K after raising pre, Steve Vladar makes it 7k, followed by an all in shove by Lee Neville.

Alan "I heart draws" Armitage gets it in, as does Steve.

Steve is well ahead with two pairs, 10c, Lee Neville has 67 for bottom pair and a gut shot, Alan is Queen high.. holding QJ.

Turn is

River is the

Alan scoops the pot with the straight to the King.

He now has - as Jackally puts it - "shed loads of chips.

It's irrellevant giving a chip count at any stage for Al, it can all change in just one hand. If he makes FT I'll start counting then.

I'll find him in a minute, trying to avoid welshmen right now after this embarrassing episode.

I just saw Darren Craven (welsh BRS player) sitting with his back to me in the bar. I've walked up behind him saying "I recognise those big shoulders" only for another man with shot putter shoulders and blonde hair to turn around and look at me blankly. It wasn't Darren, obviously.

Some chip counts for Encore players for The Lad.

Sam Cook (is he even old enough to be here?) on 166K, Darren Craven - the real one - is on 280K, Paul Jackson is on 230K but says he deserves more.

Ricky Jones - who didn't hug me - is on 270K and says he made a bad call with a set of threes when his opponent had a straight. If he's made one bad call, and is still chipped up on 270K when the average is 104K, I think he doesn't need to stress too much just yet.

Matt Russell is matching him, pint per hand played.

Poker Encore's Tommy Lawrence makes it 1200 UTG, folds round to John James who announces RAISE in a strong loud voice, and makes it 2400.

Tommy calls.

Flop is 2 7 7

Tommy checks and John again uses his best National Lottery voice to announce "2500".

Tommy says nothing and calls.

Turn is another 7, Tommy checks, Alan Dedicoat announces 7500, still sounding confident, to which Tommy again silently calls.

River is a 10, Tommy checks and John opens his mouth, pauses and quietly says "check".

Tommy tables pocket nines, John silently mucks.

Tommy Lawrence now on about 285K.

Ben Jackson has just walked in, starting late but still with more chips than his dad, Paul.

Poker Encore's Darren Craven on nearly 400K now, after inflicting a bad beat on someone, holding the mighty duece four.

 Internet Kidz hey.

Here's one for Jon Gill...

Simon Trumper wakes up to defend his BB after a raise from the cut off. SB calls, as does Simon with K 7.

Manna from heaven on the flop, as it comes 7 3 7.

Simon bets out, 2.5K, cut off makes it 5K, Simon flats.

Turn is a king! Simon bets 6k this time, cut off makes it 15K, Simon then raises all in and gets a call!

Simon shows his full house, and the cut off visibly pales and flips ... 10 7, obviously convinced he has flopped world and is getting paid, only to find himself taking the walk to the rail instead.
