Just found out via Gentings Facebook that there is a cap of 210, buy in is available online or at the club, they're recommending to buy in ASAP as they expect a sell out.

The last I heard was that they still had plenty of spaces left.

I bought someone else in in the week as they wasn't sure it would or wouldn't sell out. I would assume you can buyin at other local Gentings.

Yes, park in the multi story car park above the casino, take your car park ticket with you and the cash desk will validate it on your way out.

Taken directly from their website....
We are also able to offer free and discounted parking to guests who play at the tables or dine with us,  however this is on a limited and discretionary basis. [/b]

Limited and discretionary suggests they won't be doing it for everyone.

I have been twice now, on the opening night they ran out of tonic, and on Monday there was no valet or any draught lager. Lets hope they sort it out when they are expecting 200 players.

That's probably to stop people taking the piss and using the car park when they're not playing there.

I bought in last night and there were 120 registered. There were 4 buy in's whilst I was at the cash desk so by saturday at 3pm it wouldn't surprise me if it were sold out.

I cant see them wanting to pay for everyone's parking. I work in town for a dentists and our customers get 1 hour free, but we pay Q park the fee. It would cost us a fortune if we paid it all.

i.e. 200 players most of which will be there 6-8 hrs plus....even if 50 drive it is circa £500!

Q Park prices
Up to 1 hour   £2.00
Up to 2 hours   £4.00
Up to 3 hours   £6.00
Up to 4 hours   £7.00
Up to 5 hours   £8.00
Up to 6 hours   £9.00
Up to 7 hours   £10.00
Up to 8 hours   £11.00
Up to 10 hours   £12.00
Up to 24 hours   £14.00
Overnight (18:00-09:00)   £6.50

I live just outside Sheffield, I am going to G for an hour first, then walking up! I will probably end up back there for cash anyhow unless I win.

Aaron 1867 was asking what to expect?Huh?

I have been a regular at Genting Salford for some 18 months. Your new card room manager Raf White, ran the card room whilst i was there.

Raf was, is and always will be a poker player. And I hate to admit it, but a bloody good one too.

He got involved in Genting Salford to help promote a new tournament and things just escalated from there.

He ran a hugely successful monthly comp called the Manchester Megastack. the comp was 2 days and had a 12 noon flight and an 8pm flight on day 1. It was £200 + 20 and always carried a guarantee of £20k for 80 runners. The comp was hugely successful and very well supported.

The weekday comps always carried a guarantee and Raf isn't afraid to try new things and welcomes positive suggestions about change. Always remember that you will be talking to a Poker Player when you approach him.

There will be at least 100 Salford / Manchester players making the journey this Saturday to support Raf and get him off to a flying start. This should tell you how highly he is thought of in this part of the world.

After Saturday, I suspect his focus will be the Sheffield GPS leg. After that i suspect that he will be ready to roll out some huge comps.

In terms of cash games, i think his games will grow to become the largest around.

Trust me, this boy really does know what he is doing. Salford's loss will definately be Sheffield's gain. Enjoy
