Genting is still struggling to attract a decent crowd in and out of the card room unfortunately.
The cash games look like a non starter, some are still venturing down to G Casino in Sheffield where there is a rake charge, but NO rake charge at Genting throughout October.
Hope for a good improvement!
Only a matter of time IMO. The venue is much better, it is in a brilliant location, and as soon as the dealers etc have a bit of experience behind them it will blow the G out of the water.
The venue should be nice they spent ten million on it apparently. I question whether it is too big. Went in on Friday at 10.15 and the second gaming area wasn't even open. I had played cash at G and hit a few decent hands so thought I would go for a look and play no rake but there was only 1 table and it wasn't even full. Only been there ten minutes and they were dragging a guy up the stairs shouting his head off.
I think they have over estimated how many people they think they can attract from the surrounding areas like Doncaster, Rotherham, Chesterfield etc. G was still full even on Gentings opening night and I have hardly noticed any difference there, still all the same poker players I have seen since I started playing. There must be something that is keeping them at their regular club. Might go down to Naps tomorrow for the Bingo game and see how they are faring.

It has took nothing out of Naps to be honest. The only casino that the opening of Genting will have an effect on is G, because there is half a mile between them.

is minty in there. Last time I saw him the G door staff were putting him to sleep.
Edit : minty ain't a prick.
Is Barry about at all because he was doing his "I am gonna help Genting kill it in Sheffield" thing but he seems to be back into his football in a big way.

I was speaking with Barry on Sunday and he is disappointed with how things are going.
But I am 100% sure that the poker room will pick up come November.

They don't have a cash table open anytime before 8.
Me, Barry, Craig, Mark and Chris was all waiting around on Sunday night for a cash table from about 7, nothing in sight.

There wasn't anyone around to start one, that is for sure.
Me, Craig and Mark have all tried our best to get cash games started, but never nothing at this point in time.
They did say when all five of us was there, that there was a table open after an hour of being open, but by then Barry had lost some money and Mr, Craig and Mark are all pretty friendly enough with each other and I don't think our plan was to hustle each other.
I am sure that things will pick up though, just disappointing with slowness of course.

I have given up trying for cash games already and they have only been open what 6 weeks?
Grosvenor is still opening tables at 5pm and last week I was on one till gone 8am. They are even doing middle cash games so I can go in with a smaller roll. G have upped there game in the poker room and Naps are giving away free buffets like it is going out of style.
I said all along competition would benefit the players.

Really? I was there at about 12:15 (The car park I'm not a degen) and saw nothing. There is a fire station a minute away, you sure it wasn't just those guys?
