Hull are solid throughout (Chester and Hobbs, especially and also the holding midfielders), and Koren provides that little spark

Not generally got that little bit extra needed to get them top two in my opinion, and vulnerable in the play offs to a more talented side turning it on

re hull

have spoken to five or six people who have seen most of there games this season  and they say they have actually played well maybe four times!

I have seen five and they have played well once and just solid but rank average the other four.

I think they have quite a lot of grit and as chompy said they are generally solid at the back getting stockdale back is a massive plus and if the lad from german football starts scoring (2 in 2  now) they should end up in the play offs.

They have a decent knack of not being completely awful that often which is enough to at least compete in most games.

I think Faye, their centre back, wouldn't have too much trouble walking straight into any teams defence in this league.

Talking of centre backs, I watched Leicester last night and though Morgan was a complete beast. I look at Peter Ramage in comparison and shake my head. I can't wait for Danny Gabiddon to be fit again!

Wes Morgan and Hudson at Cardiff are fantastic CBs at this level. Morgan in particular is a real leader

Agree with Hudson, but he has to be the slowest footballer in the world, anyone that is outpaced by Glenn Murray should be embarrassed.

there are plenty of good strong centre backs in the championship

morgan and hudson have both improved a lot, faye at hull is probably still good enough to at least be in contention for a premiership side.

If I had to predict the final standings of the top six I would pick Leicester first, Cardiff second, Watford 3rd, Palace 4th, Hull 5th, Boro 6th.

You can have Leicester in a matchbet vs Cardiff with me if you like?

I am more sure Cardiff are going to falter than Leicester are to be keeping up their current form, so I am not confident with this. As with the Brighton Palace bet I have with Camel. Palace aren't in the best shape at the moment but I would hope after January we will kick on and hopefully close the gap, which i think will get bigger, on Brighton.

If Butterfield can replace Garvan well, then I am confident of winning the bet. If we don't find a replacement for him I fear for our form. Williams can hopefully slot in as well maybe.

That Zigic goal must have hurt, that guy fucked us too when we went there recently.

Disappointed to come away from Derby with only a point yesterday.  I felt we did enough to win, but it makes a change to actually put in a display at their place.

Despite all of our off the field circus antics, I may change my tune and say we will just sneak 6th spot.

All depends on the next match v Watford.  Quite significant now for us.

If we don't manage to sign Billy Sharp up long term, it will be a huge mistake.

Interesting 10 days coming up to Watford.  Due to the FA Cup and our game in hand we play 2 games in a row when none of the other top 6 play any games, so it feels like a good opportunity to stick a marker down.

Forest away and then Bristol City away.  Win both and we are second.

Think Camel is in the market for this Flushy.  I've got Cardiff against his Leicester to small stakes so imagine he'll do some more size.

Birmingham City first-team players can leave St Andrew's

Birmingham City have confirmed to BBC WM that they are open to offers for any of their first-team players as they continue to battle financial problems.

Blues, lying 20th in the Championship, are looking to offload a number of players to reduce their wage bill.

However, they denied reports that they are actively looking to sell top scorer Marlon King on a free transfer.

The 32-year-old striker has 18 months remaining on his contract and is one of the higher earners at St Andrew's.

But the club have admitted that they are seeking fresh investment after failing to publish their financial figures for the last two years.

A consortium fronted by former QPR chairman Gianni Paladini is believed to be interested in taking over the club.

However, in the short-term, it appears that Birmingham need to sell some of their players in order to stabilise their finances.

One of those players to leave could be England goalkeeper Jack Butland, with Birmingham's management admitting that they had no control over his future.

Despite their financial struggles, last week manager Lee Clark said that they had rejected a £300,000 offer from Nottingham Forest for midfielder Chris Burke.
