Got my online banking ready for you Aaron
lol, has it been sorted?
I just read an article on Zaha and Manchester United saying deal is almost certain!
I'll let you buy out early if you want
The bet we had was Zaha being sold in January and a void bet if he wasn't. There is a grey area in that say if it becomes a pre arranged deal whereby the deal actually goes down in the summer, and they have only agreed to it in principal in January, with Zaha remaining at Palace, he would technically be a Palace player with no sale. Meaning if Zaha was to get injured and had to retire in February while playing for us, Man United would actually just pull out of the deal with no money lost, as any commitment from them was only in the summer. If this is the case I think it is a void bet. But this is really up for debate, I am not trying to pussy out here, I want to discuss it, I always pay up on bets with no fuss when i lose, but this is a terms issue. I had no idea any of this malarkey would go down.
However, if money exchanges hands from the January sale and Zaha becomes a Man United player but is only loaned back to us that is a different story and you win the bet.
From BBC
"Wilfried Zaha says he is delighted at his summer move to Manchester United but insists his "focus" remains on winning promotion with Crystal Palace."
Nice swerve!
Nearly certain I still have to pay up!
Still not been confirmed 100% yet, but it looks like he will be a Manchester United player by the end of January and effectively sold to them from us, so Aaron wins the bet. He is being loaned back to us during the summer.
However, I am hearing murmurings that Man U aren't too happy of the risk that Zaha is doing, by playing for Palace until the summer and it still may be just a pre arranged deal.
All pretty confusing and I am waiting on it to be done and dusted and that has been stated has happening mid week, next week.
The bet was on Zaha being sold in Janurary, rather than playing for another team from February onwards, so looks 99% likely I am paying up. Which I am going to when it is finalised.
The bet included all add ons in the price so I was £4m off, as i was allowed £19m. Interesting though to look at the 10% sell on clause supposedly in his contract. If Zaha shines under Ferguson and moves on in the future for £40m, do I technically win the bet and have a right to ask Aaron for £200 in the future? Ha.

Watford in for Jeremy Helan apparently from Man City. Any thoughts from Weds fans - think he was on loan there.
Apparently we've gazumped the deal for a permanent move.
Helan is a good player.
Can play left back (not his best position) and left midfield (much more impressive here).
He is a tall, strong, quick (but not lightening quick) and composed on the ball.
He gave Wednesday great balance down the left side where we were vunerable previously.

I am pretty sure you are going t pay up, so not worried.
But I've heard the deal could be worth upto £15m, so he would need to be sold for around £70m for you to get the money back, not going to happen.
As for it being a pre-arranged deal, I can't understand why he would go for medical, agree fee and save it for later? Also been said it is against Football League rules. So not a chance it will be pre-arranged.
Moving on to the weekend results...
Another win for Wednesday. Bristol City badly needed a result against Ipswich or yesterday it probably was a confirmation of relegation. Ipswich needing players, Wolves in bad form and Huddersfield in even worse.

Jones seems to be bring Wednesday out of that awful run very nicely.
We are set up to play on the counter attack. As we have witnessed recently, I can see us getting more points away from home than at Hillsborough.
We simply do not have enough attacking creativity to take a game to teams at home.
Worth keeping an eye on any decent price away from home over next month or so - especially if we get beaten at home the week before.

Saw this youtube vid yesterday, and though its not the best, it does give you an inkling into what the third member of the Palace front three, looks like. He has been outplaying Zaha in the last month, and with Zaha likely to be playing better now his deal with Man U is basically finalised, the two of them could be devastating on the wings. Also they have the most effective target man up front, in the Championship, to feed. Going to be interesting with Watford kicking on, how we will end up this season.
Our promotion hangs on a replacement for Garvan, Dikagcoi back in the team and calamity Peter Ramage to stay out of the team. But anyway, enjoy!
Bada boom, badda bing.
