Had to Google Kevin Pullein, I know Beagrie obv, but not sure of the connection between Pullein and Blackpool... I see he is a journalist, did he just come out with nonsense like I did then?
I stood to win the world if Thommo got the Blackpool job, so it tilted me immeasurably that Ince got it as a desperation appointment after Oyston had been turned down by everyone else!

- Palace, also spent a lot & in my view have never learned their lesson financially after offering Murray mega bucks it seems.
Aaron you might want to check your facts before posting rubbish like that.
Since we came out of admin nearly 3 years ago we have hardly spent any money - our first team squad which i would say consists of about 18 regulars probably cost about £1 million combined (not including Speroni who was brought nearly 10 years ago).
In the summer we sold Ambrose, Clyne, Scannell for probably somewhere around £3 - £4 million total.
Our nett transfer fees are in profit so i think its fair to say that we have learned our lesson.
Murray is not on mega bucks - rumours are that he was offered the same at Brighton as Palace were offering but he chose to make the move with probably the added bonus of a signing on fee.
I would guess that our average wage bill would be somewhere between 16th and 20th in the division.

"Hull have probably spent the least "
This detracts from having your post taken seriously imo.
In any case, the top 6 are certainly no worse than Leeds, Wolves, Bolton, Blackburn, Forest in terms of budgets so I'm not really sure why you think it is "fake".
If anything it has been refreshing as Hull, Watford and Palace were all expected to be looking down rather than up.

I'm worried about Brighton now. Wouldn't want to play them in the playoffs. Think they would turn us over the way they are playing now and a Watford v Brighton semi is one of the more likely ways the league table ends imo.
Brighton will finish higher than 6th imo.
So unless Watford finish lower than third (which I think is unlikely) it ain't gonna happen.
It's very tight up there - can easily see Brighton and Watford taking the 4th/5th berths.

Hull are doing what now? Boydy was on crazy money at
the worst team on paper
Peterborough and Dull are now paying him more!

Hull spent £2.5m on Nick Proschwitz at the start of the Season, not bad for one player in the reserves? Thats pretty much most championships teams complete transfer budgets for 2-3 year right there.
Leeds budget has been tiny for years, we certainly have made a profit from transfers for the past several years so not sure where people get that Leeds have/had money to spend. Our top earners are on £12k, we only have a 50% ish revenue to wages structure.

"Watford are up there because of the 30 loanees they have."
And Watford were down the bottom with those same '30 loanees' earlier on in the season ...... if they'd got relegated would those '30 loanees' be to blame?
The Football League and rival fans are spitting feathers over this 'abuse' of the loan system - the Pozzos (or anyone else with multi-club interests) could easily get round any proposed ban, by simply transferring the necessary (amount of) players, as required.
Hull 'beamed in' a brace of Egyptian internationals - an Ameoba arrived recently from outa Toon @ Boro - and dear old Olly carefully forgets about his own loanees, when it suits .....
If you banned all loanees in the Chumpionship, and forbade clubs to spend on players unless solvent .... Charlton, Burnley & P/Boro would probably be fighting it out for the top two spots!
The same football 'authorities' that throw the book at small clubs (Swindon, Luton etc etc) tend to meld into obscurity when the Premier Boys get caught with their dirty mits in the mire ... just saying!

It seems like a very fake top 6 to me at the moment.
- Cardiff are up at the top and look likely for automatic promotion, but they have bought promotion and saddled with £85m of debt, apparently.
- Same logic for Leicester.
- Watford are up there because of the 30 loanees they have.
- Brighton spent a few quid as well, but nowhere near as bad the Foxes and Cardiff.
- Palace, also spent a lot & in my view have never learned their lesson financially after offering Murray mega bucks it seems.
- Hull have probably spent the least and I have kinda warmed to Steve Bruce.
I don't want Cardiff or Brighton to go up. Not really fussed about the other four.
Bottom is just jokeworthy at the moment, especially P'boro! Unreal results at time.
- Bristol City have a crap defence, but picking up at home.
- P'boro unpredictable, but really do have the worst team on paper in this league.
- Wolves very lacklusture going foward, rubbish manager, but really should have enough.
- Barnsley been found out & let in 8 in 2 games against the worst team (at the time) and a very average Championship team at home.
- Wednesday (my team) don't seem to carve out enough chances, but never seem 'out' of a game. Centre of midfield not good enough, imo. Wickham going back soon too.
- Huddersfield don't create enough & definitely have the worst manager in the league. Probably will pick up enough points at home.
- Ipswich have some very decent players, will have enough & decent manager.
- Birmingham, another team with a rubbish manager (WTF did Birmingham do wrong?), but enough in team
Blackpool (42) & Charlton (43) still not far off, but would be massive downfall for them to not pcik up enough points.
I think P'boro, Bristol and Barnsley will go down. I somehow think Wolves will pick up.
What a load of shit. Hull spent the least? Proshithz or whatever cost £3.5m, Brady £2m. Those two alone cost more than our WHOLE squad of first team players. Plus that bloke from Sunderland and the Egyptians and god knows who else.
Our squad is cheap.
CMS 2.5m
Ulloa 2m
Buckley 1m
Crofts (effectively free, bought and sold for same amount)
Hoskins 750k
Barnes 25k
Rest cost nothing
Minus off Elliott Bennett 1.5m which was used to bring in Buckley.
Our squad cost £4.75m. Rest was free.
We have the NINTH most season ticket holders in England.
We also aren't in top 10 for wage bills.

Spending anything over £1m for a player in the championship these days is rare, would say Brighton have defo backed the manager there for sure. Not many teams have spent over £1m all season it seems, loans and freebies to get them off the wage bill seems standard these days.

Anyone else opened themselves up to the possibility that this is just high-class bait from Aaron?

I remember the glorious day when Watford bought Nathan Ellington for £4.5 million and gave him a massive 3.5 year contract. A wonderful piece of business that was.

I've often wondered why Elton John hasn't become the owner of Watford.
He obviously loves the club, he must be worth hundreds of millions and he can't spend the loot once he's dead.
Why didn't he just acquire the club when it was in finicial difficulties?

I am not going to multi quote, but still believe Palace have spent their way to get up there. If you think Glenn Murray is on the same money he was on at Brighton then you are in another world. He just doesn't up root leave another city for same money and similar prospects.
People mention Leeds budget, don't think they have one.
As for Watford and the loanees "if we was bottom 3, what then" - You are not bottom 3, but without the loanees you wouldn't be far off, therefore it just highlights you have spent to get up there.
Blah, Blah, Blah....

Well he used to pour millions in Camel but I think he was very upset about general anti-gay sentiment in the 80s/90s at football and that killed his love for the game unfortunately.

Upset is probably the wrong word - he probably just thought "sod it" (obviously he didn't get any rubbish from Watford fans but it must have got tiresome from away fans).
