Palace are in a pretty good position with that point...they essentially need only a draw at the weekend to get into the top 6 (unless Bolton and Forest both rack up multi-goal wins).

yup

our last hope is to win at Forest and Bolton lose to Blackpool

Onto next season then lol

I suspect its Watford, Brighton, Palace, Bolton though I hope Watford pip Hull

Redic really, when we haven't won in 9, only drawing 5 of those.

We would need Bolton and Notts Forest to win and us to lose for us to drop out of the top 6.

Malky loves Watford. Will have his team motivated.

They will grab a point up there and Watford will smash Leeds who won't have diouf, Austin or byram (injured?)

Palarse will draw with Peterborough I think, so expect Bolton to nab 5th with a big home win.

No chance of forest smashing Leicester who have improved lately.

Palarse result today could mean we rest 7 or 8 players. Rested some v Blackpool and Leeds before we even made it!

Poyet's said he'll play his strong side but who knows, Poyet says a lot of things. Might be some convenient 'injuries' to some key players come Saturday.

He rested bridcutt and bridge v Leeds.

Rested ulloa v Blackpool too.

Expect bridge, upson, Orlandi, ulloa will be rested at a minimum v wolves. Our bench is awful, hope he plays jake Forster caskey, looked incred last season.

If it is to be the playoffs it's definitely Palace I want to play even if it carries risk of losing to Holloway!

If we do make it, I hope we are still in it by the second leg. Terrible memories of playing Watford at home in a playoff semi under Warnock and getting hammered 3-0, making the away fixture a non-event.

Playing second leg at home will be MASSIVE for us.

Holloway has lost the plot, said will have no problems in the play offs based on last nights performance of one shot on target and one shot off target against a relegation fodder side.

Can dobbie play in the play offs semis? Just know he can't play against us and his loan expires before the final.

LDWW sequence and we are premier league.

It was under Dowie I think?  The 2nd leg was memorable only for Fitz Hall and Aidy Boothroyd having some handbags in the home dug out during  a throw in!

Dobbie can play in both legs of the semi-final, but only if not against Brighton.
He cant play in the final as he was on an emergency loan deal which expires before then.

Have had a think about it. And i doubt i would have been caught dead saying this before, but Wilbraham is key for us to have any chance in the playoffs for the same reason O' Grady is key at Barnsley.

We need the hoofball, knockdown by a dominant Wilbraham (who has been winning everything, Murray pales in comparison) and regroup further up the pitch. As our preferred style of play needs high tempo which we don't have because of morale, everyone is operating at 75%. We need to make the game ugly, get the positive result, hopefully against Peterborough on Saturday, and then you can maybe revert back to the 4-5-1, if everyone is buzzing again.

How can you have a 4-5-1 when the guy up top is currently outrageously out of form, basically terrible? He is at his best when the whole team around him are going great guns, he is the icing on the cake as a great finisher. But when the team are slower on tempo and struggling a little, he isn't the type of striker that will inspire a rise in form, he will just be as bad as the rest, worse even. He provides not much in terms of build up and is just an out an out poacher, who is poaching worse than a 35 year-old centre back with no knees.

Ideally I would have a 4-4-2 with an emphasis on the hoofball to Wilbraham and the knock down from there, for our more skilfull players to feed from. It is how Dobbie scored against Blackburn. Makes no sense at all why we resorted back to the 4-5-1 against Millwall, with not one real threatening chance.

My team would be Speroni, Ward, Delaney, Ramage, Moxey, Zaha, Garvan, Jedinak, Bolasie, Wilbraham, Dobbie/Phillips

Bolasie/Zaha/Garvan would have a lot of success working from the knockdown. At present we can't play the 4-5-1 as we are playing sooooooo much slower than before due to morale, so we need to play ugly and effective, over failing with the old style and our players getting more and more frustrated.
